#1 REBUTTAL Owner of company
Complaint isn't accurate
AUTHOR: - ()
SUBMITTED: Monday, July 22, 2013
Unfortunately, we are unable to identify who this person is so its difficult to comment, except in generalities, about the allegations. If this person was ever a client of our’s, they filed a complaint before ever letting us know they were unhappy with our services.
The clients say we promised to get him an Offer in Compromise. This person may have us confused with other "tax professional" companies who make all kinds of promises to lure folks to hire them.
Fudging the truth (lying) is a easy way for disreputable companies to take advantage of a would-be client’s emotions and desires. We don’t do business that way. As a matter of fact, we regularly have folks decide not to hire us because we can’t promise them what the outcome of their case will be.
In our Attorney-Client Agreement we state very plainly that we offer no guarantees, and that we’re unable to predict what the outcome of their case will be until we’ve investigated the facts of their case, their financial information, and their tax liabilities. If you think about it, it makes perfect sense. There is an adversary (the IRS) who is opposing us. All we can ever promise is to put our 20 years of experience to work trying to find our clients the best possible option they qualify for.
He says we made "more requests for 433A information to be sent". This is what we must do in a tax defense case. We must gather all the client’s financial information. Some clients don’t like having to give us the info, and some dribble it in slowly over time, and some client ultimately never give us all the information we need to evaluate what their options are. It appears this person may have fallen into that category. A tax case can’t work where the client demands that he wants an Offer, but refuses to give us the information we need to even know if that is an option they qualify for, or whether it’s the best option for them or not.
We have an A+ Better Business Bureau (BBB) rating. We have been in business 20 years, and represented thousands of clients in all 50 states and 29 foreign countries. We are proud that less than 0.4% of our clients have ever complained. We regret this person is unhappy, but we can’t make everyone happy, even though we try.
It appears this person has filed the same complaint in at least one more place in an attempt to make it appear that there are more complaints.
You can speak to us personally at 1-800-509-2770.
Sincerely,
Fouts Law Firm
