Wish I had seen this...My investigating brought me here. Not knowing about these fake email from EBay, I proceeded with the purchase on 03/31/2009.

I followed the directions as idicated by the "eBay financial Center" emails and the other crap that made me feel secure. I was to "received a tracking number from the seller once payment was confirmed by eBay. God, I screwed up. Lost $4,850 + $140 to wire the money. I'm an idiot...how can I get this money back for Grandma? I was told by the eBay email that confirmation would take 12-24 hours; that was on 3/31/09. 4 days later...I got nothing. So here I am, finding out what an idiot I am.

WAS IT EVEN e-BAY or a Nigerian SCAM?

AUTHOR: Joe - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, April 04, 2009

Could you please explain in more detail ( use fake names if you will, please) of how you were approached by the scam and who they were and what they offered and how in the world your grandmother was involved ?????

I can't quite make all the connections from what you have here?

If it was a Nigerian scam, too bad, so sad, your money is generally gone and NOBODY CAN GET IT BACK!

If you could reply with the ad --what did it say?, etc/ how you found it

what the item even was?

how was your grandmother involved?

I would need a lot more details if I was to try and see if you can get it back.
