JK Harris & Company This company deceives you into signing a contract then does absolutely nothing for you, they continually hand your case off to another person and give you the run around when you call about your case. They also ask for paperwork over and over again and your personal information is asked for repeatedly over the phone when you call them. They took 1400 from me so far and are still taking from me N. Charleston South Carolina

JK Harris deceived me into beleiving they could help me with my IRS problem. They asked for a down payment then set up installments for the next year.
Then I heard absolutely nothing from them except a piece of paper introducing my case worker.
After waiting a few months I called and they said I had a new caseworker now. But my case was no further along than it was a few months before.
I waited again and only received that same piece of paper with a different name this time.
Waited again and then after 9 months,called only to find out that case worker no longer worked for the company, my file was sitting on a desk lost all that time. So my bill kept accumulating interest and they were doing nothing.
After a year I am still calling and getting the same answers that they will let their superviosr know I called. But no answers and they have never sent me any information on my account except the caseworker letter and never have any information when I call.
They are definitly a ripoff and need to be reported to the Better Buisness Bureau. They are advertising on TV how great they are and preying on innocent people who are trying hard to solve a problem.
I am a single mom and could not afford to pay all that money so I had to borrow most of it and for what? Now I am not only out 1400.00 but I owe the IRS more than I did a year ago. Thank you JK Harris!!

Susan,

Our goal at JK Harris is to satisfy our customers. Thank you for providing your full name so that I was able to research your case and give you a better explanation for what is going on. We apologize for leaving you feeling like nothing has happened with your case, however, this is not completely true.

Initially, we were unable to reach you after you signed your contract with JK Harris. All mail we initially sent was returned to us and the phone numbers we had listed were incorrect. Evidently, you had moved and we were unable to reach you about your case until you made contact with us. You are correct in pointing out that you have been the one to initiate the bulk of the contact with our company and for that we apologize.

We greatly appreciate the fact that you have responded to each of our requests for more paperwork. Most clients do not realize the sheer volume of information the IRS requires us to submit on their behalf, and that is why we have to ask for paperwork over and over again. The IRS requires the most up to date information for each taxpayer.

This leads me to the delay with your case. Your request for us to file innocent/injured spouse on your behalf was processed and submitted in March. We are currently waiting on the IRS' response. We cannot follow-up with the IRS until we have you sign a new Power of Attorney. They will not allow us to discuss your case with them unless we have a current POA signed and on file with them. We realize you want to see results before you sign anymore paperwork, but we need your cooperation by signing the POA so that we may proceed. We cannot do anything else on your case without a signed Power of Attorney to act on your behalf; therefore we cannot provide you with the results you are looking for. This delay could also be holding up your tax refund for tax year 2006.

Please sign and return the new Power of Attorney that your Case Specialist has sent to you so that we can move toward resolving your tax issues. We would be glad to answer any of your concerns or assist you with any other issues.
