JMC Motorplex Cheap Oil Change - Put Wrong Oil in my VW Jetta Keller Texas

I went in for a cheap, quick oil change on a Saturday afternoon. Everything went according to plan except for weeks later when my car began sputtering and the "check engine" light came on.
I immediately took it to a VW dealer for service and they indicated that the wrong type of oil had been placed into the car.
After notifying Jimmy McDavid and the staff at JMC, they did refund my oil change fee but refused to reimburse me for expenses related to the damage to my engine in excess of $200.00.

Brett did come in for our oil change special. $18.88 plus your filter is the pricing for oil changes at JMc. This usually totals just under $30.00 with filter cost and Haz Waste fee. Brett has a VW that possibly has had synthetic oil since new. We preformed our price leader oil change as requested. A few weeks later Brett called and notified us of his vehicle conditions. He also told us how the local VW dealer had preformed a Synthetic Oil change and the vehicle runs perfect. We have available every brand of synthetic oil and do alot of high end oil changes. Had we been instructed to use Synthetic we would have done what the customer asked. The resolution was to return Brett his money and put him in a position as if he had never spent any money with JMc/Fascar Auto. I am not sure what the local VW dealer charges for Synthetic Oil changes, what I do know is that they charge more than JMc Motorplex. We preform over 300 oil changes a month and give great value to our customers. This includes vehicle inspection, tire pressure check, wiper fluid fill, free brake check, wiper inspection and more.
