Foster's Farm and Equipment Supply sold the tractor, a John Deere 5103, and after 5 days and only 11 hours of use, the oil started seeping into the cooling system. Foster's Farm and Equipment Supply refuses to replace the tractor or give a refund.

After I bought the tractor, I was looking through the paperwork that was included with the equipment and found a Tractor Pre-delivery Form that was not filled out, indicating that the pre delivery work had not been performed. It is likely that improper vehicle preparation by Foster's Farm and Equipment Supply prior to delivery could be the cause of the malfunction.

Thousands of happy customers, and one we just could not make happy after everything.

AUTHOR: D. Foster - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, July 17, 2008

We honestly did everything we could do to help this customer with his tractor within the Deere family. The customer was 200 miles away and all he would say is he wanted his money back or a new tractor, when blame could not be determend from the get go. His tractor was fixed and he still wants his money back or a new tractor. Every mechanical machine can break down or have a problem, but what matters is who is there to make it right.

Fosters Farm And Equipment Supply Sold a Damaged, not Defective Tractor!!!

AUTHOR: Buick_gn - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, August 24, 2007

Since my first report, some new information has come to light. According to the service manager of the local dealer, the overheating condition was caused by an oil cooler that was smashed when the loader was installed at Fosters Farm and Equipment Supply in Hockley, TX. This means that the tractor was sold damaged, and I was not informed of the damage.

David Foster likes to brag about how many of these packages he sells, yet he is too incompetent to even install a loader on a tractor without causing major damage to the equipment.

John Deere, Fosters Farm And Equipment Supply Defective John Deere 5103 with a Severe Engine Problem

AUTHOR: Buick_gn - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, August 20, 2007

First, a correction in the title box. The tractor is a 5103.

Secondly, thank you for the advice. I have written letters to both, the CEO and the VP of Ag sales at John Deere in Moline, IL. I have yet to receive a response. I agree that this experience does not match the John Deere name and reputation.

The reputation was the main reason that I bought a John Deere and I would like nothing more than to post an update stating that they have done the right thing as I only want my money's worth, nothing more. Hopefully, I will be able to do that soon.

I also filed a complaint with JD and it was referred to the district rep who seems to be more on the dealer's side rather than the customer.

TRY TO CONTACT JOHN DEERE HEADQUARTERS

AUTHOR: Margaret - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, August 20, 2007

I would try to contact the John Deere home office and tell them the problem and the name of the equipment company you purchased it from, and of course file a complaint against the equipment company. John Deere has been in business too long to be selling junk.
