I also feel like Meriwether Saddlery is a scam. I paid a lot of money for a saddle adjustment and have seen no change in my saddle or the saddle fit on my horse. I don't really think he knows what he is doing and I also think he is willing to say ANYTHING to get more money from you. I hope that other people will find this post and realize that there are way better saddle fitters out there. I feel bad for the people who had to take him to court just to get their money back!

If you are looking for a saddle fitter in the PNW I would not use this guy, huge waste of time and money.

Had a really bad experience with John Meriwether. I needed some flcoking done to help my saddle better fit my horse, John came out and he just seemed a bit off. He didn't really look at my horse much, do any measurements, square up my horse or really anything. He just tossed the saddle up and looked at it for about 20 seconds.

He took my saddle back to his car to re-flock it and asked me to stay with the horse. After about 5 minutes he came back and put the saddle back on my horse and said that it was a much better fit now and that he was happy with how it came out. In a rush he asked for a check for over $200 and was on his way. It was not until I got back to the barn that I realized he had not actually done anything to the saddle.

He literally just came out, stared at my saddle, took it back to his car and just sat with it doing nothing, then took the saddle back to me and charged me for it. This guy is a total fraud and I have no idea how he can continue to be in business like this. I hope that in the future people will do an internet search on him because there are A LOT of people who have had really bad experiences with him. I would not reccomend Meriwether Saddles to anyone, try someone else.

I wish I would have done a google search on this guy before I decided to work with him, would have saved me a lot of grief! John Meriwether of Meriwether Saddles is terrible. He is an over the top sleazy sales person who will do anything to make a buck. The worst part is, hes not even a good saddle fitter! What he is good at is tricking you in to thinking you need to buy a saddle from him. This guy will say literally ANYTHING to get you to buy one of his crappy WOW saddles. Don't get me started on those crappy WOW saddles, way overpriced and flimsy pieces of crap. Those are like Wal Mart saddles basically. 

Do not work with Meriwether Saddles!

Hopefully people wise up and do a little research on this guy before they do business with him, there are plenty of other saddle fitters in the area that can help out, I feel like this guy is just going to keep ripping people off, preying on people who don't know any better. If you are reading this and still considering doing business with John Meriwether all I can say is DON'T. Save yourself a lot of time and money and look elsewhere.

John Meriwether is a total hack. He will talk a big game about what he can do for you and will not follow through on any of it. I can't believe Meriwether Saddlery is able to stay in business with the incredibly poor service he gives to his clients. He is the type of person who will tell you exactly what you want to hear in order to bill you for his time, but at the end of the day he does nothing to assist you with saddle fit. He just wants to sell you one of his crappy WOW saddles. If you want a crappy saddle with a horribly designed flexible tree then John can surely help you with that. I feel bad for anyone who has been scammed by this guy, hopefully people will wise up and look elsewhere for saddle fitters.

I wish I would have found this before I trusted this total lunatic. He convinced me to buy one of his WOW Saddles under the impression that he would be able to fit it to my horse. Well he bought the saddle and charged me thousands of dollars but did NOTHING to fit the saddle to my horse. To this day the saddle does not fit my horse. He no call no showed to two appointments, and when he did come out he didn't do anything to the saddle.

John Meriwether Saddlery IS A SCAM.

This guy has no saddle fitting skills at all, he is also a popmpus ego maniac. I can't believe he is still in business. Do not do business with this guy, he is totally unhinged and a complete jerk. After his failure to fit the saddle to my horse and the total melt down he had at the barn I board at he refused to take the saddle back and refund my money. He essentially stole thousands of dollars from me.

Please heed my advice and do not do business with Meriwether Saddles. John is nothing more than a middle man for WOW saddles, not to mention the saddles he sells are total garbage. I've used $500 saddles that are better than the crap he sells.
