In January 2016 we inquired to Genesis Luxury Group to do a home renovation at our home in Glendale, AZ. We met with lead architect Andrew Foreman and lead designer Chelsea Allen who came out to quote the project. Within a week we had a design estimate and build estimate from Genesis. We signed the design contract in February and followed with the financial contribution needed to execute the contract and begin the purchase of all of the materials for our job. 3 payments were made to Genesis LG that totaled $23,192.50 which fulfilled the design contract obligation. We corresponded through emails back and forth with the company reps to confirm our material selections and were under the impression that everything was being ordered timely so that it matched up with our construction timeline.

Shortly after finalizing all of the selections we executed the build contract, which totaled $47,278.50, and an initial contribution of $18,911.40 to secure sub-contractor deposits to schedule job. It was confirmed through email by owner of Genesis LG that our job would be starting Monday, April 4th, 2016. This is when the trouble began. We emailed Andrew Foreman to schedule our final construction meeting and got the email returned to us- we immediately contacted Jon Allen and he told us that Andrew quit 3 weeks prior and moved back to Hawaii but not to worry he and lead designer Chelsea Allen (his daughter) would be taking over the job. My husband and I did not have a good feeling about this and began inquiring about our timeline, which he was suggesting we move back because they were overloaded with jobs at the time.

In the meantime we looked up his AZ licenses on the AZ registrar's website and we found that Jon Allen was in violation of operating without a license and the licenses listed for his name were belonged to Sam Eldewar with Corvo Construction LLC. (ROC 233583/233584)We brought this to Jon's attention immediately and he told us that Sam was the VP of Genesis and that is that the men doing our job were all individually licensed and "employees" of Genesis. We continued to doubt the legitimacy of Genesis and Jon with several excuses of missed meetings, etc. throughout the next couple of months.

After finally agreeing to a construction start date of May 16th, 2016 we scheduled a final construction meeting for Thursday May 12th, 2016 at 9:30am. That morning around 8:00am I texted Chelsea Allen confirming the meeting and once again she responded with an excuse that her father, Jon, was in the hospital again (an excuse that was used before) and that they would be unable to make it however Doug Schultz (General Contractor) hired to do our work would still be coming. We immediately called Doug and he came over and informed us that he had not received any money as a deposit from Jon Allen/Genesis to begin the work in 4 days. He then divulged information that he was still awaiting payment from Jon from a couple other jobs. We then spoke with Chelsea Allen who finally admitted that NONE of our materials, $23,192.50 worth, were never ordered for our project.

We immediately tried calling Jon Allen and got  a disconnect notice on the other end, Doug Schultz was nice enough to give us Jon's new cell phone number, which we were never informed he had, and he answered the phone and told us that Doug had been in fact paid and that he was misleading us, etc to make Genesis look bad. We insisted that we did not want to continue with the work and Jon offered to return the money to us by May 16th, 2016. Jon also informed us that his company was being bought by a Esteban Morales of Strategic Global Partners and Esteban called us immediately to try and rectify this newly attained liability. The whole operation seems like a scam and since this we have read 4 similar reviews from consumers, that were not previously available, and something needs to be done to STOP the sale of this fraudulent company and Jon Allen needs to be held liable.

The offices listed on his contract are no longer leased to Genesis LG or Jon Allen. We were unaware of this as well.

The fraud committed here is multiple counts:

Operating without a license

Operating under someone else's license

Receiving money for a materials contract with intent to purchase materials that were NEVER purchased

Receiving the 1st installment of build contract with intent to make deposits to secure contractors for our job that were NEVER made

We did not receive our money back, as we anticipated we wouldn't, on Monday May 16th, 2016
