I don't always pay rent on time, living pay check-pay check. Extra fees are incurred after the 5th. Rent and all late fees are to be paid by 4:00 on the 10th. On the 8th of the month I returned home to find an 8x11 bright red paper with the words in all capital letters "you owe rent, pay it now!" In the state of Texas any notice that is posted on a tenants door must be in an envelope and sealed as per section24.005 People come across hard times in life, it was demeaning and very unprofessional to put my private affairs on blast!

Typical Deadbeat Actions...

AUTHOR: Robert - (USA)

POSTED: Sunday, April 30, 2017

The typical actions of a Deadbeat In your zeal to try and attempt to shift the blame to someone else for your problems,
you don't even realize what you are doing.

The regulation you spent all of your time to find does not state ANY communication. It specifically talks about the notice of "Forcible Detainer", basically the document that says they are evicting you and you have a specific amount of time to get out. Now, is there a law that covers this "note" you got? Possibly. But here is the thing if you have the time to research all of this out, you have the time to get another job. Even if that is only couple nights a week cleaning the bathrooms of the all night truck stop.

Of course the reason you didn't like the note is because it was embarassing and people knows your issues.  Well guess what, envelopes aren't put on doors to just say "Hi". Everytime an envelope is on the door everyone who sees it knows exactly what it is for. That the person in that apartment is getting evicted because they failed to pay their rent.

But here is where your "deadbeat" actions really come back to bite you. As you are so worried about people knowing your situation that you didn't pay your rent. So what did you do?  You posted the exact address of the apartment complex, your first name, and your unit number(215) in the picture. So now instead of a few people possibly seeing a note on your door, people from Texas to New York to Austrailia now know your situation. Oh and unlike the note on the door that you can remove...on the Internet it is here forever.
