Not one, not two but THREE packages in a row have been "delivered" to my "mailbox" at my apartment building and NOT ONE was in my mailbox! I live in an apartment complex and it takes a key to open my mailbox and put mail or packages inside. When I called the Jose Marti USPS responsible for my deliveries they told me that it was "scanned and delivered INSIDE my mailbox" and there was nothing I could do about it. These packages WERE NOT delivered! They told me they trusted their drivers! I told them, doesnt it raise some eyebrows that THREE packages were marked delivered and I have not received any of them? And they refused to refund me. They refused to look into it. And basically told me sorry, you have to eat the $300 cost of the 3 items because our driver said it was delievered. SOOOO basically, any USPS driver can scan your package and CLAIM it was delivered and take your package home with them!!

I know this doesn't help what has already happened to you, but if I were in your position, I would have packages either held for pick up at the post office or have them sent adult signature required. Check out their website to see if any of their extra services would work for you.
Are there cameras near the mailboxes? Unless there's cameras pointed at the mailboxes, there's really no way to prove the package never made it into your mailbox. Maybe if you tell your apartment manager what happened they may consider putting up a camera.
Post offices probably get a lot of unscrupulous people lying about not receiving packages - bad apples spoiling the bunch.
