We here at The Energy Partners have been in business for over 12 years specializing in designing and implementing energy conservation tools and methods for local governments, universities and military bases. We use multiple pieces of equipment to achieve our goals. When one of those pieces of equipment failed I turned to "JThomasparts" for a replacement part. On 11/1/17 I called their 800 number and spoke with a woman (manager) named Angel and placed an order for (1) PTO clutch ($750.72 via CC) which they had in stock. This was the first order I had ever placed with JThomasparts. As expected and in a reasonable amount of time my clutch arrived in an undamaged package. Regrettably though when I opened the package and examined it, I discovered that the clutch didn't move freely in its normal, UN-engaged state. This meant that the clutch was unusable. I contacted JThomasparts and informed them of the issue and asked them to replace it. They informed me that they wouldn't just replace it, it had to be shipped back for evaluation and that that would take several weeks once they received it to make a decision. While highly inconvenienced I had no choice.

I repackaged into the box it arrived in and shipped it back. After 3 weeks I contacted them again to follow up as they hadn't called or emailed me. Once they looked us up they stated that after reviewing the returned part, they decided not to replace the part or give us a refund. They stated that the part appeared to have been dropped and promptly accused us of doing it. I informed them that I was the only person to handle the part and I didn't drop or mishandle the part. They stated ,non the less, they weren't going to replace the part or refund our money. So as of 12/24/17 they still have my defective part, and our money and have no intention of correcting this issue. I have filed a complaint with their local Better Business Bureau and they have failed to respond in any way. The Better Business Bureau request that you wait 30 days after filing complaint to give them time to correct the issue I have done that and they have not replied. Therefore I'm reaching out to everybody via the Ripoff Report. On February 1st I reached out to Angel at J Thomas Parts again to inform them that I was going to reach out to the Ripoff Report for help after they neglected to respond to the Better Business Bureau and they stated that I should go ahead and take whatever course of action I feel necessary.
