For a year now I have been paying inflated gas rates!  I don't mean by a few dollars either.  NICOR, the normal supplier of gas in my area charges about .483 per therm of natural gas, US Energy or Just Energy or whoever they are today, charges upwards of $1.37 per therm.  I tried getting in contact with the company before their name change, with little sucess.  NICOR does not want to deal with customers who have been switched to Just Energy.  I finally filed complaints with the BBB and the IL State Utilities Board.  I finally got a response from someone at Just Energy.  After speaking with a representative from the company who told me there was no way to change my supplier back to NICOR (Unless I paid a huge $350.00 fee), they offered me instead a discount on my therms.

I asked if there was any other option for me and I was told no.  What else do you do?  I then filed my complaints.  Two days after I asked Just Energy to tell me how I became their customer, a representative from Just Energy came to my door to try and solicate my signature on a contract.  My son answered the door (the prior time they came my daughter answered), he came to me and told me someone from NICOR was at the door.  Now my son is a kid, he doesn't know who supplied my gas!  I asked him if he was sure it was NICOR, he said yes.  When I got to the door it was a rep from Just Energy.  I slammed the door in his face!  A couple of days later I got a call from someone in Just Energy's loss department named Ana Maria Tigrero, not only did she try to put words in my mouth, she insisted I had signed a contract which to this day I have not received a copy of!

She was so obnoxious in her methodology of saying three things in a row, and then asking me if they were correct that I finally ended the conversation telling her not to put words in my mouth.  I still am not sure how I became their customer since the only peole I have ever agreed to talk to were from NICOR.  Who are these scam artists?  How do they get away with ripping people off?  Why are we allowing some weird company from Canada to come to the United States and charge unknowing customers outrageous fees for gas that should be at least 1/3 the cost?  The whole situation is beyond me.  I stilll have not received any confirmation that I agreed to switch gas suppliers, even though I was ensured on the phone by Ms Tigrero that I had made such an agreement.   This company is definitely a scam and a rip off.  If there is a class action suit, sign me up!
