So it is totally logical and normal for you to be approached in a parking lot by a guy trying to sell you a home theater system for pennies on the dollar.

Yet you are suprised you got scammed?

Yes I am sure you were thinking the entire time "Wow..I am lucky this guy stopped me", while this guy was thinking the entire time "Wow...I could tell this guy would fall for it".

Now you are not totally to blame, after all these people are good at picking out the gullible and people who will let their greed get the best of them.  They know how to hit all of the hot buttons and make it sound totally legitimate.  After all what son doesn't go around in a parking lot selling merchandise for his family at a 90% discount?

By the way if you didn't get at least 90% off of the catalog price you truly did get scammed because you will find reports where these people are so desparate to sell that they will keep offering you a lower price until you agree.
