I wanted to have a Kendall Howard server enclosure delivered to a residential address. After talking to a variety of resellers that didn't understand the circumstances (and that wanted to pull the truck up to my "loading dock"), I contacted Kendall Howard directly and asked for a referral; they recommended that I contact a reseller in my area that was supposed to be experienced with this situation.

I spoke at length with the reseller's representative about my circumstances, explaining that we have a house with a driveway and a small set of stairs leading up to a front door. I indicated that the other shippers had left me with a concern that this 200-pound server cabinet would end up in my driveway.

The reseller came back with a higher quote that would suit my needs... and a week after I placed the order, the shipper came by and dropped the server cabinet off in my driveway, because that's the delivery option that the reseller had contracted. I now have a 200-pound cabinet, sitting in my driveway in a box, out in the rain.

I contacted the reseller, and the representative blew me off with the "I'm sorry that you're not happy, and there's nothing that I can do for you at this point" line.

I contacted Kendall Howard directly, and spoke with a guy named Walter, who took the same approach: "The quote only included residential shipping, which just involves a different truck."

I explained that the problem was with the reseller, which had quoted me a rate for my circumstances, and then shipped it in a totally inadequate way. Walter's response was: "Hmm." (Silence.)

The conversation ended with: "Well, it's too bad that that happened, and there's nothing we can do for you." Not even a hint of an acknowledgment that its reseller had made a serious mistake or provided poor service. No attempt to address the problem. Basically: "It's your problem now, so good luck with that." Terrible service, just terrible.

I'm pleased to report that a Kendall Howard representative contacted me with the intent of resolving the issue. The representative had done some background research, fully listened to my side of the story, and acknowledged the problems with this order. We worked out a resolution that makes up for the frustrations with yesterday's experience.

My impression of the company is much improved, and I'd like to withdraw my earlier review.
