I contacted ebay seller in uk for information on a ifor williams 510 horse trailer he was selling.

Seller contacted me with the info and offered further pictures sent to my email then offered a quick sale as he was getting divorced. Auction was still running it was at 1,454 he offered it to me for 2,000 plus delivery. I accepted. The seller said ebay would contact me about payment as his account had been frozen due to his divorce. I had an email from the ebay safety centre on how to pay the seller and that it was covered by ebay for 90 days the email looked as though it had come from ebay and all above board!

I sent the money as instructed by the safety centre! by money gram! and all the time the seller kevin sigvald as he was known continued to email me about the delivery of the trailer and contact phone numbers for delivery. The trailer never arrived and ebay told me that it was a fraudulant transaction and that they would'nt cover me as it was a payment not authorised by them even thought the contact was made via my ebay account! i feel they are resonsable if i didnt use ebay to buy a trailer he couldnt have scammed me!

I have lost 2,000 pounds and feel such an idiot. The local police are now investigating as ebay are useless or worse than useless and very rude when i reported this incident said it's my own fault and would not  help even though the initial contact was through there site on ebay!

Police have told me the copy of the email for payment is very good the only difference is the shelid on the saftey centre email has a lightning flash and not a tick.... please be very careful when buying on ebay as i have lost a large amount of money.  I just hope they catch them!!!!
