Kevin Watkinson Custom Rebuilders $150 for Quote - Never told until Invoiced High Bridge New Jersey

I was contacted by Kevin Watkinson after putting my information into a site called homeadvisor.com. We needed an estimate to repair a deck at a home we are under contract for. 

The deck is currently a safety hazard and it is a project that needs to be done right away. It is a guaranteed job for the right company.

Kevin told me he would go out Saturday morning, check out the deck and send me an estimate. 

He called saturday morning to confirm the address. Afterewards, an entire week went by without any word on the quote. We called him to receive the quote and we were told it would be sent by email that night. The next day we still had no quote.

By the end of the 3rd day, we finally received a quote. Along with the quote came an invoice for $150 that was due ASAP.

We were never told about the invoice. We had never agreed to be invoiced. We had spoken to a dozen other companies regarding the estimate, and the highest invoiced amount would have been $30 from any of the competing companies. 

I agree that the time to go out and estimate the project is worth something but not 5x more than what other companies in the area are charing.
