I didn't know it,but Nanci Gates,Khemunu Cattery, already had two complaints with the BBB,who will not endorse her and rate her F,when I called her and asked about a male Egyption Mau breeder kitten. She said she would sell me one if I sent her a $600 deposit, which I did. When I didn't hear from her for awhile, I emailed her twice to send some photos of the kitn, which she ignored. Finally, she wrote me and said she had sent back my deposit, and decided not to sell the kitten, without ever discussing it with me.I never got the money or heard from her again

Do Not Purchase With Words Like:"NON REFUNDABLE DEPOSITS"

Under Civil Code sections 1750-1784 of the Consumers Legal Remedies Act, customers are also protected against retailers who participate in unfair or deceptive acts to sell their goods, and are entitled to a full refund plus damages of at least $1,000.
CFA Cattery Reviews has a new policy now. If any cat breeder any where in the world withholds any "good faith deposits" to a buyer for whatever reason, there will be contact with the Police Dept or Sheriff's Dept in the city & state & country that cat breeder lives in. A police/sheriff's report will be filed. A buyer has a right to change his/her mind at any time, the same as they do in legal busine, such as Walmart, Kmart, Kohl's etc., and are able to get refunds.
The cat breeder's made up that policy "deposits are non refundable". And you all seemed to have gotten away with it, not anymore! Those days are gone.
So talk to your breeder friend pals and voice it to the hightest mountains and tell them what will happen if they withhold any form of a deposit for any reason whatsoever.
If a cat breeder wants to stay in business they will return any deposit requested by the buyer at ANY TIME, for ANY reason, no "ifs" "&s" or "buts" about it! It's simple to understand.
It does not matter what the buyer "did" or "did not do", "what they said" or "did not say" if a buyer wants her/his deposit back a cat breeder will infact give it back or have a police/sheriff report filed its that simple, case closed!
Any CFA/TICA cat breeder that has on their website or contracts the words: "NON REFUNDABLE DEPOSITS" on it, need to remove it ASAP. If not your website & contract's will serve as evidence and proof to develop a list to submit it to the property authorities.
NOTICE: A deposit is used as leverage to lock in a sale because the cat breeder is so hungry for money. As they live over their means and use sales to make a living off.

I found out my moneygram for $600 was cashed by Nanci Gates on 01.03.13.The typical online scam--I sent the money for something I didn't get.

Nancy Gates has lied about everything.I have been breeding over 15 years and my cattery is very well respected. She can't name a single person that would say otherwise. On their registration papers,it says my Mau girls were registered with CFA on 7.25.12,months before I even talked to Nancy,so it is a lie that she checked and that my girls are not registered to me.In addition,I have the reciept of the money order for $600,#204347970300,purchased on 12.20.12,so that proves that I didn't get it back and cash it myself. I believe she found someone to buy the cat for more money or maybe the cat died, and SHE has a diseased and fouled cattery. I don't really care.I just want my money back.

Ms Lindsay contacted me about purchasing a Male Breeder Egyptian Mau. We had a conversation and she sent me a deposit. During the conversation she explained people were not wanting to sell her a Mau and that she didn't understand why. She stated there were bad people in the breeding business and they were not very nice to her. After I talked to a few breeders I found out that her cattery was full of disease and sickness. Also I found out none of the female Maus she had plan to breed to my male were not even registered in her name or with CFA or TICA . This is why I made the decison not to sell her as cat. When I received her deposit I wrote "return to sender" and sent it back. Basically refusing to accept the deposit from Ms Lindsay, I feel she is dishonest and deceptive and I would never sell her a cat. I send her an email when I made this decision. She continued to ask for pictures of the cat. She then send me an email threatening me and saying she was going to ruin my reputation.
