I returned a phone call to Kim Lacey of ACS on a debt owed Citi-bank. I infirmed her we were destitute and please stop calling and correspond via mail if necessary. She informed me that I was a stuipd, ignorant deadbeat and she would call me every day until we paid or had our phone disconnected. I said WOW! that's pretty harsh talk, your a real hard nosed b**** aren't you? She hollered back NO, that's your mother and hung up. The call is on tape. Ken Lansing, Michigan

I would call the lawyer referral service for your local county bar association because I am sure there would plenty of attornes who would represent your mom on a contingent fee basis. What you described sounds like a potential violation of the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, which can carry some subtstantial penalties with it.
The Federal Trade Commission also has web page where you can file complaints online from creditors that have been harassing you: http://www.ftc.gov.
