King Auto Mall ripoff Took car in for repaires, my car fell off lift in garage and they won't make it right! Fort Lauderdale Florida

I took my '95 Saturn SC1 (red coupe with rear spoiler) in for repairs. I was the original owner and it had been a good car, only had around 75,000 miles on it, A/C was great, no holes in seats, never been damaged in an accident, never left me stranded. Right after I decided to keep it, it started exhibiting transmission problems. Even though the dealer was not the cheapest solution, my husband thought we should "do it right" and have them fix it.

The first day they had it, it fell off of their lift, shattering two of the side body panels and twisting the hood. My insurance company did a preliminary estimate that the repairs would run about $1,822.10. So I drive in a car that has never been damaged and I get back one that has been in a major accident! Nice.
However THEIR insurance company decided to total my car out and offer me $2,000 for it. Kelly Blue Book lists replacement cost at $4,040. I did four hours of online research and could not find anything close (year, model, mileage, etc...) for under $6,990 to $7,500.

After FOUR WEEKS the insurance company briefly considered fixing the car, but the dealer sent in an estimate of $4,500 (I'm assuming they declined to fix it after that) and the next I heard the dealer wanted their rental car back, leaving me to find a ride on my own.

I argued with the insurance company. They finally told me that King Auto Mall did not have insurance that covered "replacement cost" and I would not get more than NADA book value. NOT FAIR!!!

They will tell you they tried to make me happy. First they offered to sell me a new 2005 Saturn Ion 1 for $13,429. Today I saw an add on TV for a 2006 Saturn Ion 2 for 13,274. Now they are talking about used cars... I wonder what they will offer to sell one to me for... It has been FIVE WEEKS now.

Am I being unreasonable? I've only asked them to fix it or give me $4,000 for the car. We won't even get into all of the time I've wasted arguing with these people who obviously don't give a fig if they do right by me or not.

King Auto Mall. Drive in, Walk out... Can you say RIP OFF?!?
