Feb 5, 2003 they were supposed to deliver $10,000 of cabinets - but they were a no show. For the next 3 weeks nobody at KraftMaid can tell me where these cabinets are or when they can be delivered. I finally got a delivery date of March 7.
The truck finally arived and unloaded 28 boxes of cabinets. You can tell the boxes have been sitting in water by the water marks. Upon inspection 15 of the cabinets are damaged, and I don't mean a little damage.
I recontacted Kraftmaid and they finally agreed to remake the cabinets, and I was given a March 25 delivery date.
It's delivery date again. A woman driver that can't back the truck arrives. She had over 2 acres and almost hit the only tree anywhere around. This driver was never able to back up anywhere close to the house. Her and her very young helper took 3 boxes off the truck and carried them to the house. I started inspecting the cabinets and 2 of the 3 were damaged. The next one was broken into several pieces.
At this point a war almost broke out with the truck driver. She wasn't about to let me inspect the cabinets and I wasn't about to let them be taken into my house without looking at them. I called Kraftmaid and someone spoke with her, but things did not get any better. At this point they didn't care what they did to the cabinets and I stopped all unloading and told them to get the damaged and new cabinets and get off my place.
All this time the driver kept telling me that Kraftmaid cabinets were nothing but junk and they sent them from the factory damaged. I heard how they had to deliver cabinets as many a four times before people finally recieved usable ones.
I have had the misfortune of dealing with a company that just didn't care like Kraft Maid. Not only did they keep sending damaged cabinets they have put me over 2 months behind in moving into my new house, and their reply was "We are sorry."
I did recieve a full refund but now I have had to go elsewhere and order cabinets and it will take at least another month before I can get them and get moved in. This is all due to Karft Maid and their poor quality merchandise.

to the person that had problems with kraftmaid
i am and have been a professional cabinet installer for many years. and in my personal experience i have allways found kraftmaid cabinets to be a quality product with great customer support. we install several kitchens a month and have never had a problem that wasn't delt with promply and in a cost affective manor.
we install for private contractors and cabinet salespeople and in no way am i affilliated with kraftmaid

I personally ordered $5,000 worth of kitchen cabinets from KraftMaid in May of 2004. They put the order through and gave me a delivery date of July 22, 2004. The company contacted me about one week prior just to set a more specific time frame on the 22nd.
The drivers arrived...unloaded all the cabinets...and left. I opened and inspected all the crates and found absolutely no problems of any kind. The cabinets were beautiful, excellently made, and of superb quality including dovetail drawers.
These cabinets were recently installed with no problems and I believe that they will last me at least 10 years. I just loved my experience with KraftMaid and would happily do busniess with them again. I just feel you should hear the good side of these companies as well.
