If you know anything about trained GSD you would that's the way you want them, you do not want a trained dog that's mean, its a liability. Did you bother to take him to a trainer to see what he has got in him, Also when buying a trained dog you need to make the trip and work with the dog and see what it can do, before dropping that kind of money.
