Ever wondered about Mystery Shopping?  Unfortunately for the gullible it is just another form of exploiting the low paid and unemployed.  This group includes the elderly, which is where I come in.  I am retired; owned and operated a successfulness business for twenty-six years and am a published author.  I performed mystery shops for Kss, sassiesshops.com, California management and several other titled companies all working under the umbrella of Kss. Basically, I was to pose as a potential renter at various apartment complexes both in person and via phone and record and report my findings. 

For my service I was to be paid $25.00/shop.  I performed five shops.  These shops began as one to two hours to complete and escalated to four or five hours per day over a three to four day period always requesting clarification and more details and reiteration of events stored in memory from days ago and now clouded by a new shop I would be working on.  The request always ended in a threat of non payment.  These five shops were completed over a month ago.  Of course request for payment is ignored.  When I email for further instructions, I receive a reply  of "This shop is incomplete" or "This shop is under review".  Even as an optimist it is clear that Kss is a rip off.
