KUDZU Landcape Design & Maintenance They ripped me off by $2000 and another by $5000 in Landscapinng Dallas Georgia

Description of what happened to me,

On June 6, 2008 I Hired "KUDZU Landcape design & maintenance" to come and start work at my house, the scope of work that was to be performed was,
a: clear cut all small trees smaller than a 2 liter coke bottle

b: bobcat work entailing smoothing and leveling to prepare for grass to be grown, "basically remove all debris and stumps

c: build a privacy fence to the circumference of the back yard

d: build stairs off my back porch to the yard

Only the clearing of the small trees was done, nothing else.

The situation goes like this, I was having our back yard turned into an actual backyard so it would be safe for my (2) 3 year olds to go play in, I would have paid whatever they asked to do the job right but they quoted me $4000 and required a $2000 deposit so I paid it thinking nothing of it.

June 6 2008 Alan Anderson the owner of KUDZU Landcape design & maintenance, came with a crew of 3 guys, showed up at noon and began to get his crew to work, with in 15 minutes of writing the check Mr. Anderson left my house and cashed my check at the Wachovia nearby, at 3pm his crew with out warning got their stuff and left.

I figured that they would have worked longer than 3 hours on my yard because I had just paid them but hey I figured they would be back in the morning. After no showing and several attempts to call Mr. Anderson I contacted Mr. Lyle, the other owner, and asked him to contact Mr. Anderson and find out what was going on. Shortly after Mr. Lyle called Mr Anderson, Mr. Anderson called yelling at me, saying I should just shut up and listen to him.

Monday comes and Mr. Anderson shows up and works in the yard, with machetties and hatches, no chain saws, no bobcat, no fencing supplies, and began to clear the yard very poorly and inefficently. Mon-Tues he showed up no problem, they worked for about 5 hours a day and left with out notice every time. Wednesday he and another guy got stung by a few bees in the yard, their hands swelled and I told them to go to the hospital, after this I recieved a phone call from Mr. Anderson saying he didnt feel good and needed to stay home for the day to recover from the bee sting. After that his crew showed up on Friday and stayed for 3 hours and did not return again.

The following week on wednesday I called Mr. Anderson and asked him where his crew was, he seemed surprised in why they werent there, said "he would be right on it and would call me back later that night". Friday at 9am is the next time I would hear from Mr. Anderson stating he was thrown in jail for drawing back on his employee for lying to him about comming to my house, he asked if he could come on monday 3 days later and start work, since then they have not shown up to complete work, they have not returned any calls, and is now claiming that I owe him $700 additional, for dumping fees and misc stuff.

As listed above we contracted for $4000 and he was paid $2000 as a deposit so it should have covered this until he completed the job. He was very well instructed not to go over budget and to pre approve anything extra. He has not come close to completeing the work, avoids phone calls, the business listed in dallas is not located at the address in which displayed, and I have another person who has contacted me describing a similar situation who says she has lost about $5000 and is willing to testify to this.

After my neighbors had seen me getting this done they had come over to see progress on a daily basis, they can attest that very bare minimum things were done and definately didn't justify $2000.

This man is a con man, he believes his own stories, he is in business not to do a solid job, not to maintain the customers satisfaction, but instead is just really there to manipulate the home owner and others around him..
