Lapp and Zimmermen are two last names you want to look out for when buying a puppy from Pennsylvania. Both of them were caught in huge puppy mill scams. Type in Lancaster puppy mills and you will see both of their names. Please do not buy puppies from them. To find a healthy dog breeder, go to the AKC website.

Not A Mill

AUTHOR: dawber43 - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, September 16, 2014

My wife and I purchased a puppy (Fender, later named Robot) from John Lapp in 2009. I can assure you - that the way this dog has been nutured on the LAPP premises is far from those of a mill. The puppy at the time, and even now - is one of the best natured dogs I have ever had the pleasure of owning. Thosee first few weeks after birth as an essential part of the anim, alss well being, and given the nature of our dog now. Robot had to have been well cared for in those initial weeks. John LAPP is not a mill runner, and he takes d**n good care of his puppies. Perhaps it is you the complaintant, that has mistreated your dog - in which case, you don't deeserve to own one!!!

Thank you

Richard Dawber

WE Too Have been Had with this Puppy Mill

AUTHOR: mdbowhunter - ()

POSTED: Thursday, August 08, 2013

My Fiance decided to purchase a Golden Retriever Puppy after 2 of our Senior Goldens with a month of each other -  from John Lapp off Craigslist at Bueana Vista Rd Location. She made the trip on her own and Paid $800 + . She surprised us when she got home and instantly I noticed that the Pup was bumping into things and had problems focusing on objects. Within 1 week we noticed that her eyes were dancing side to side and orbital motions and has what we later found to be Nystagmus. We actually had to take her to a DOG nerologist to have her looked at and he told us that nothing can be done medicaly and it is a result of over breeding.

According to Mr. Lapps paperwork that we recieved with the Pup all dogs were checked by Willard Stoltzfus M.D and cleared with a clean bill of health. After some research on the internet we have found that this Particular VET Appears to be involved in some Puppy Mill breeding himself.

Mr. Lapp DID return our money and offered to take the pup back.... but as other people have reported we did not want to see her lose her life over some greedy farmers out to make money.

Due to the fact we have a toddler we were unable to care for the pup becasue she was UNTRAINABLE (and still is as I see her and walk her daily). We gave her to a family member who has a little more time on her hands for a special needs dog. Due to this irreversable congenial disease that she received from OVERBREEDING she has Temperment issues, OCD - To where when she is taken for walks she will stop wherever she is and start UNCONTROLABLY  didgging holes. Also when we take her to our waterfront property she is OBSESSED with the water to the point she will not return.... she will get 50' from shore and swim in circles until someone has to physically remover her. She did this for over 1/2 hour and nearly drowned. She also has uncontrollable weight issues and many other afflictions due to overbreeding.

PLEASE STAY AWAY from John Lapp - Buena Vista Rd

and Stoltzfus MD veternarian

Rebuttal to slanderous opions

AUTHOR: LancasterPuppies - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, January 02, 2012

Really, what more could a breeder
possible offer to ensure you his puppies are of the highest quality
and offer you a money back guarantee? We all know that dogs, as well
as humans, cats, salamanders, and every other living being on this
planet has the potential to get sick.  Vets cannot screen all
forseen problems and diseases in a puppy.  Every one of the
puppies on LancasterPuppies are listed in 100% positive health, the
exception being the breeder disclosing the illness/defect in writing
to the buyer.  Some animals are more prone to sickness than
others. As this slanderous review of LancasterPuppies says,

"I don't know about you but once I'm attached to the dog I
wouldn't dare take it back and
take the risk of the dog being killed. I can just see
it now, I would leave with the new dog and my other dog would be
taken to the back of the barn and killed."

This is purely a flight of imagination.
There is now way whatsoever that this person knows the puppy would be
"taken to the back of the barn and killed." So it's not
possible the puppy wouldn't have lived a very full, happy life with
the breeder's family? It also purely an emotional argument, what
about the dogs they are not emotionally attached to? They don't care
if those get killed? If we are playing with emotions, why not just
skip dogs altogether and send the money to feed starving children in
Africa? Wouldn't saving a poor childs life with Compassion
International, for like $30 a month, be a lot more fulfilling than
having a pet for a few years?

Hate Lancaster Puppies!

AUTHOR: Shepherd_Lover - (United States of America)

POSTED: Saturday, December 31, 2011

I love how it says that she could take the dog back and be given a full refund. Well, I don't know about you but once I'm attached to the dog I wouldn't dare take it back and take the risk of the dog being killed. I can just see it now, I would leave with the new dog and my other dog would be taken to the back of the barn and killed. The reason I am writing about all of this is just to let others know what my last 6 months have been like from buying a dog from John Lapp! At 9 months old, he is a German Shepherd, and was diagnosed with hip dysplasia. Now he is 1 year old and has been recently diagnosed with numerous allergies to food. He is allergic to Lamb, Corn, Milk, Rice, and Peas. Its just been a long road with our dog. We also had to put him in a special training class because of his poor temperament. We did that when he was around 4 months old. He still has separation anxiety but it has improved a little since going to these classes. I've done a lot of reading about German Shepherds and I have also read that you get what you pay for. If you buy from a reputable breeder then your chances of having better luck with your dog are a lot higher. I can just say that since we have had our dog we have gone to 5 different vets and have spent well over $3000 on our dog for medical expenses. So if your thinking about buying from this website please think again. If you write a response Id be more then happy to send you my phone number and I would personally talk to you about my experience. Its been a rough one but think God we have this dog and someone else didnt end up getting him because I don't know many other people that would put up with this.

MisInformation

AUTHOR: LancasterPuppies - (United States of America)

POSTED: Saturday, October 29, 2011

I am an employee of LancasterPuppies.com and I need to correct this misinformation.  Lapp and Zimmerman are two of the most common last names in Lancaster County.  LancasterPuppies.com does not advertise for puppy mills.  We have our own photographers that take the pictures of all puppies advertised on Lancaster Puppies.  Our photographers personally inspect every breeder's house and the puppies' living conditions.  If they are not up to par with our guidlines we do not advertise for them.  We help families looking for a new companion to find breeders in Lancaster County that have puppies available for sale.  We have many, many good reviews from families that have found puppies through us, simply visit www.LancasterPuppies.com and click on "Testimonials" on the left-hand side of the website.

Lancaster puppies not a Mill!!!

AUTHOR: Inkedbarbie - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, May 27, 2009

I have had a wonderful and positive experience with Lancasterpuppies.com. Not the specific breeders in questions, but others. I bought a pure bred English Mastiff from a breeder in Lancaster PA, Not oonly did he have a vet, proper vet check ups on all puppies. But both mother and father were both health tested for genetic diseases and hip displyasia. Not to mention my new wonderful puppy came with a 2 year Health guarantee!!! Not to mention, if taken to the vet within 72 hours, if anything was found to be wrong with the dog, I was able to return the puppy and receive a full refund! The breeders were incredibly nice and I felt treated their dogs very well. I have had other past experiences with other breeders though I did not buy a dog from them, and thought them to be wonderful as well. This web site is a NO PUPPY MILL website and is also pound proof. None of the dogs will ever see a pound!

Love those Animals

AUTHOR: Lucky - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, July 05, 2008

Lapp-Zimmerman, Ah, how the Amish love their animals. Lancaster County has become one of the busiest areas for puppymill breeding in the country, spearheaded by the "animal loving Amish"

40 years ago when I lived in Lancaster, there were backyard breeders but none of the assembly line Amish puppymill breeding going on. The Amish want to be apart from the modern world and not be controlled by all of societies rules. But I fear the love of money and the ability to turn their backs to the abuse they cause other creatures, has turned them into the type of people they claim to be better than.

Nicole is right...stay far away from dealing with these people.

By the way, if you're looking for a dog to love...try your local Animal Shelter, save one!
