Landers Chevrolet Finance Department Dishonest Benton Arkansas

On March 28, 2007 I agreed to purchase a new vehicle from Landers Chevy in Benton. I found what I was looking for and agreed to a set price. When I arrived in financing, I was told of what company agreed to finance the vehicle, and at what interest rate. The interest rate was 17.99%. When I questioned the very high interest rate, I was told it was the best they could do. He said he talked to the finance company, and tried to get a better rate. My previous 2 interest rates was 10.79% and 8.79%. I signed the paperwork.

I began to wonder about the interest rate, and called the branch of the finance company that handles all transactions here in Arkansas. When I questioned the high interest rates, and informed her of what I had been paying, she informed me to contact the dealership where purchased. She stated that they had no record of them calling and speaking about the interest rate on my loan. I contacted the finance guy at the dealership and spoke with him. When I told him that I had contacted the finance company and asked them questions, he seemed really surprised and uneasy. I advised him to contact the finance company and with whom to speak to.

The bottom line is the finance dept will not tell you the truth either. I have learned a very valuable lesson, go to the dealership with a pre-approved loan from a very qualified lending institution.
