The Alabama insurance commissioner’s office has been incredibly frustrating; it feels like they don’t really assist consumers at all. When USAA chose not to pay out on claims, despite me consistently paying for my insurance, I turned to them for help. Ms. Roe even had the nerve to tell me to stop filing complaints, which feels like a direct violation of my civil rights.
To add insult to injury, USAA canceled my homeowner’s insurance after three legitimate claims.
They did provide a total of $100,000 for hotel stays when they could have simply rented me a home for just $1,000. Now, I’m stuck because no other homeowner’s insurance company wants to cover my house due to USAA’s actions.
As a result, my mortgage company ended up imposing an insurance policy on my home, which only covers fire damage!
The insurance commissioner’s office has failed to make USAA pay the remainder of the claim I’m still owed. When I reached out for assistance, Ms. Roe again insisted that I stop making complaints.
I’ve never encountered such a level of corruption in my life. Being told not to voice my grievances is incredibly disheartening. It feels like I've consistently been treated unfairly throughout my entire life.

The schools attorney Melinda was killed by her new husband in a murder suicide
AUTHOR: Charles - (United States)

It's been quite a journey reflecting on the lives of various individuals who played significant roles in my experiences. Sadly, both my attorney and the school's attorney have passed away. Among them was the lawyer who wrote a particularly nasty response to my mother's complaint to the bar association; he lost his battle with cancer back in 2011. Then there's Joey Biddel, who used to coach at Smith Station. He was the one who thought it was appropriate to give me Saturday school because he believed I had written mean letters about my bullies, when in reality, they were just entries from my personal journal. Unfortunately, he passed away in 2015, but his family chose not to disclose the cause. Looking back, it feels almost surreal that those who defended my bullies are no longer here. My attorney, Deb Madison, actually stepped up at one point to prevent me from facing Saturday school, which was clearly retaliation for my mom's legal actions. On another note, Jill Radwin isn't living her best life anymore, especially after the way she treated my mom. Similarly, Melinda Baird, who has been known for mishandling students’ IEPs and advising the school on how to break the law, isn’t enjoying life either. It's a stark reminder that while they faced their own consequences, there are still other unscrupulous lawyers out there, profiting off defending school districts.

Here you go making false accusations on something you know nothing about

It seems like you're throwing around serious accusations without having all the facts. When it comes to my septic tank and air conditioner, . I believe it was incredibly unfair for USAA to cancel my policy like that. Instead of helping me out in a reasonable way, they opted to spend $100,000 to put me in a hotel. They could have made a better choice by renting me a house, which would have been a more sensible solution. Honestly, you don’t have the right to judge or blame me for how things have turned out. This platform is meant for consumers to share their experiences with businesses that let them down, not for business advocates like you to come in and bully those who are simply reporting their grievances.

Maintenance

Both of those sound like the result of poor / negligent maintenance. The only reason an AC would cause a flood is if you don't clean the drain line, don't have an overflow switch, and ignore water damage for a while. I'm also not sure how a septic tank would flood your house unless you kept pouring water down backed-up drains. The insurance company is certainly well within its rights to cancel your policy.

I just don’t understand why Jessica Weidman/home depot would ban me. After how I shopped at their stores for over 25 years. Why she had such malice and hostility towards me and she didn even know me. This is corruption and evil doing by Home Depot. To falsely accuse me of being abusive and disruptive. Because I kepted asking why it was to dangerous to cut 6 inches. Jessica wasn’t interested in making this situation right. She sicked and attorney on me threatening legal action if I wrote or contacted anyone at Home Depot. Jessica Weidman/home depot are the ones harassing me. But they’re use to treating customers badly and lying about them. Because they’re is no accountability. The customers just have to take being abused and lied about! The incident at Home Depot continues to fuel my anger and frustration. Jessica's banishment feels like a betrayal, especially considering the discriminatory treatment I faced from their employees. As a woman myself, I find her sudden concern over a six-inch cut baffling, particularly after they cut wood six inches for my entire living room wall. Her justification for my ban is completely unacceptable. It highlights a deeper issue: her inability to acknowledge and address her own biases, instead choosing to blame the victim. This experience underscores the importance of self-advocacy and setting firm boundaries. I'm torn between confronting Jessica about her hypocrisy. The very foundation of friendship should be mutual respect and understanding, not arbitrary power plays and threats. It's time to prioritize my well-being and surround myself with people who value me for who I am, not who they want me to be. Ultimately, maintaining my dignity and self-worth demands that I choose my battles wisely and protect myself from further harm.

The insurance commissioner is supposed to hold bad insurance companies accountable
AUTHOR: Katgy - (United States)

I had three valid claims. First, my septic tank flooded my house, and then my air conditioning leaked everywhere. That's exactly what the insurance commissioner is supposed to address—homeowners voicing their concerns about their insurance companies acting in bad faith. However, to tell consumers to simply stop filing complaints feels like a violation of my civil rights. But what else can I expect from people on this platform who clearly don’t prioritize the consumer? They seem unwilling to hold these bad insurance companies accountable, and the truth is, they seldom are held responsible for the damage they inflict on people's lives.

That's how insurance works

Insurance is supposed to be insurance, not some kind of all expenses paid resort vacation that you win when you have a claim. If you file a bunch of stupid claims be prepared for your policy to get canned. Insurance companies really don't like customers who repeatedly file claims. And they certainly don't have to write policies. Many people do their entire life without filing a homeowners claim, so I don't know how you end up with multiple claims in a short period of time. If you think the insurance company owes you money you can file a lawsuit. Repeatedly complaining to the state insurance commissioner over the same issue is not likely to accomplish anything except annoying everyone in that office.
