Law Offices Of Mithell N. Kay, P.C. directv ripoff scam New York New York

I have now received three collection letters by mail over the past five months from the Law Offices of Mitchell N. Kay, P.C.

The collection is for a DirecTV account that has been closed and paid in full over one year ago. I did call DirecTV to verify payment. They also told me that they do not use any third party companies for collections. I'm not positive if this is accurate.

I've searched for this "scam" on the internet and have found a few others that have received similar letters for collections from this company. If you call the Law Offices of Mitchell N. Kay it is not possible to talk with anyone. f you select the option to talk with a representative it immediately goes to a recording that says that the line is not active. The "only" option is to make payment by credit card over an automated system.

I'm making this report because I don't want to drive 3000 miles to knock on their door(which probably doesn't exist). I also don't want anyone else with the same issue to fall for this one.

The collection is for $101.50, and the letter says they will settle for $50.75. Of course I'm not going to pay it and let them win.
