Lawton Retail Merchants Association ripoff concerning Scoggins Realty of Lawton Oklahoma

I moved out of a rental home rented by Scoggins Realty at the end of the year 2004. I moved because the landlord refused to change the carpet throughout the house and you could tell it was deteriorated and molded, which made me and my family very ill.

So then after a whole year, I get a letter from Lawton Retail Merchant Association stating that I owe Scoggins Realty 494.00, after I had already sent a wrongful deduction to the landlord of Scoggins when they tried to charge me 897.00 a 2 months after I had already moved out!!

SR had already kept my security deposit and now they want me to pay even more! No frickin way! I DO NOT OWE them a dime.

Anyway, after LRMA sent me the letter which they tried to date it December 27, 2006, (I didn't get the letter in my mail until January 7, 2006, and they are located in the same town I live in!) I disputed the debt and I never heard from them again until just recently when I viewed my credit report and lo and behold, there it was in black and white; the fraudelant debt from Scoggins Realty!

According the FTC, collection agencies are not allowed to post debts to credit bureaus without first allowing the person dispute it first, oh well.

I am currently disputing the entire debt with the credit bureau and I will just have to wait and see but I felt I should warn others of this collection agency.
