LBF Travel, Inc. Smartfares Carolyn Gallant Cancelled airfare May 2015. Was told to contact Alaska Air when ready to make reservations within a year. I called Alaska Air to make reservation but was told that Alaska Air would refund money instead of making reservation and that on and I was sent an email from Alaska Air that on January 26, 2016, refund was forwarded to LBF Travel and they will credit my account accordingly. I've tried to ascertain the status of refund by calling LBF Travel three times. Once I was hung up on and when I called back I was told that there is a dispute with collections. I've been hoodwinked and bamboozled. I pray the same doesn't happen to you. San Diego California

April 15, 2015 I made airfare reservations via Smartfares.com.  I didn't receive any confirmation and when I called back to get a confirmation number I was told that there was no confirmation number and that someone would email me the confirmation number in a couple of hours.  

I waited then called and was told that the reservation was never made and that I would receive a refund.  I called American Express and told them what happened.

Smartfares had my money and I didn't have a valid confirmation number. I filed a fraudulent report with American Express but then rescinded when Carolyn Gallant told me I could cancel the reservation (that was never made by Smartfares) and could later make reservations by April 15, 2016

I was making reservations to attend my mother's funeral.  After a couple of hours and no confirmation number, I made other reservations.  I have record of over a dozen phone calls and I have emails from a Carolyn Gallant. 

Because I had to have a reservation over a holiday weekend, and I couldn't get a confirmation from Smartfares I made reservations elsewhere and received a 'good' confirmation number.

After receiving an email from Carolyn Gallant informing me that the funds are with Alaska Air and she gave me a phone number to call when I was ready to redeem the cancelled reservations, I sent an email to cancel the reservations.  

On January 3, 2016, when I called Alaska Air Michelle Larraby said that Alaska Air would send me a refund check.

On January 23, 2016, I called Alaska Air and Arlene said that since I paid with a credit card, they would have to send the refund to LBF Travel, Inc. and they would adjust my credit card account accordingly.

On January 27, 2016, I received a copy of an email from Alaska Air to LBF Travel, Inc. indicating that the refund in the amount of $673.98 was sent to LBF Travel, Inc.

 February 3, 2016, I called LBF Travel, Inc at 2:32 p.m. and was told that someone would call me back in 4-6 hours. No return call.

February 4, 2016, I called LBF Travel, Inc. at 8:44 p.m. and was told that someone would call me in 1-2 hours and when I asked for this persons name, he hung up on me.  I immediately called back and a Tom answered and put me on hold then told me that he couldn't discuss anything with me because there is a collection problem.  I asked if there was a name of someone I could call to discuss it and he told me he couldn't talk to me and said that someone will call me in 24 hours.
