We purchased an oven clean through KGB deals for 15 (advertised as a 65 Oven clean). On further reading of the email confirmation we decided to upgrade to a full oven clean or double oven clean of 14, so 29 in total. A cleaner arrived on Saturday 31st March at 9.30am. When she arrived she was a little unsure whether she was doing a house clean or an oven clean. We left her to it and after an hour and 45 minutes she called us to look at the result of her oven clean. In short the oven was still in much the same state as when she started. She admitted that she had done her best but just couldn't get it clean. I suggested that the equipment and products she had weren't suitable and she agreed, she also said she would let her manager know that this was the case.
I emailed Leeds Domestic Cleaning know that we weren't happy with oven clean expecting them to be apologetic and don't worry Mr Armour we'll send someone to sort it out. 

The response I got is as follows;

Just had our cooker cleaned and to be honest it's just not worthy of a supposed 79 clean. The cleaner has turned up without the suitable products to do the job. She has been here 1.75 hours and the cooker barely looks cleaner than when she started. I feel there are two options to resolve this, send someone with the proper materials to do the job as advertised or a full refund. 29 in total.

Some decent oven cleaner would be a start. The stuff she had was to clean the house not to do an extensive oven clean.

Hello once again,I think the best resolution would have been to let the cleaner stay until she had finished the job rather than asking her to leave before she had done. Im sure you would agree with this.

I think you'll find that your cleaner admitted she couldn't clean it properly with the products you provided. She came equipped for a house clean not an oven clean. I see this as false advertising so you either refund our money in full or send someone to rectify it.

I am satisfied with the service we provided and believe that Paulina was asked to leave before she had chance to finish the job. This is my final response in this matter.As per our complaints process you may now write to the below address quoting your post code and date of clean.

Well I'm not satisfied with your services or the way you seem to be dealing with my complaint. So I will write to your complaints department as well as reporting you to trading standards and watchdog. These deals which are advertised on the various discount websites are just the example they are looking for to clamp down on.

John - thats total fine - you do as you wish but you need to remember that you asked the cleaner to leave BEFORE she finished the work. I have informed our Complaints Manager that you will be in contact.  Im sure that you will get a speedy reply as he is never ever busy and always as very little work to do. If you insist on the awful and uncooperative attitude were you are unwilling to be reasonable you will not get very far with anything.  Spending your days buying voucher deals just to find ways to complain is not good and your certainly not the kind of customer we want. At LDC we always work hard to keep customers happy but its a waste of time working with professional complainers such as yourself.

I think the whole way that this company operates is an absoulute disgrace, I am a reasonable person and have never raised a complaint about anything before. All we wanted from the outset was to have our oven cleaned.This person clearly doesnt care about his customer satisfaction.

Experienced the same terrible service from Leeds Domestic Cleaning

I have had a very similar experience to the one described by John Armour in my dealings with Leeds Domestic Cleaning and its charmless manager Simon M Macbeth. The man has zero grasp of what customer service means. 

I have filed a separate Ripoff report on here as well as writing a blog post detailing my experience
with this horrendous company (essentially, they have taken my money and not provided a service) here:

Simon M Macbeth also owns Outdoor Fitness Leeds, Real Homes Leeds and Film By You according to
his LinkedIn profile. 

Google his name and you'll start to get some idea of the awful reputation this man has. 

I would suggest that anyone who has had a similar experience do what I am doing: blog, tweet,
Facebook, Google+ about your experience. Write on all his business's Facebook pages. Contact the companies whose logos he uses on the Leeds Domestic Cleaning website (Money Supermarket have already said they won't be doing business with him in future due to reports from more than on unhappy customer), contact his companies' twitter followers. 

Do everything you can to ensure that the internet is awash with stories of his ineptitude and horrendous

He obviously runs several businesses from the address 343 Roundhay Road and (coincidentally) a
'Pauline' is registered as living there. Sounds a lot like Paulina, the infamous cleaner, doesn't it! So it all seems very shoddy and two-bit. He clearly doesn't give a toss about customer service or his reputation, but at least you can be a massive pain in his arse. 

Oh and I would bet significant amounts of money on the fact that there is no 'Complaints Manger'
and that the one positive response about this company on here is written by Simon himself. Read my blog - he has a track record of (in my opinion) fabricating mythical members of staff. He must think his customers are stupid.

Don't judge people by your own low standards Simon.

I was given a voucher for a oven clean as a birthday gift (yes my husband actually did) and upgraded to include a full house clean. my experience was very good.  The cleaner was called Sam who arrive a little late which was ok as she was only 10 mins and did text to advise me. she was very hard working and worked 30 mins longer than id paid for which i thought was ace. dont remember the guys name in the office but think it mite be simon.  didnt have any problems with him.  found him helpful, polite and accommodating when i had to cancel my booking a few hours before the cleaner was due. i was worried id have to pay again due to the 24 hour cancellation policy but he was happy to let me rebook the following week.  highly recommended service A+++++++++++++++++
