Legum and Norman by and thru Community Archives Exorbitant Fees for Checking Balance; Can't talk to a representative to get info. Have to pay $50 fee for that and $237.00 to get a copy of condo documents (normally $50.00-$100 MAXIMUM by Condo Assoc Internet

I work for a title company which requests a detailed list of questions in order to proceed to settlement on the sale of homes. I had contacted Legum and Norman to obtain condo information (what has the seller paid, what is due, transfer fees, buyer to pay next month condo dues?, etc.). I was told that we had to go to their website and click on sales and refinances and order the account report. This costs $50.00 and the title company has to be on the hook for paying for this information within 90 days of order even if settlement does not occur. Plus they can come after our office for attorney's fees and collection efforts if not paid. In addition to this we had just heard that copies of the declarations and bylaws for the condo was $237.00 to be prepaid by the agent in order to go to settlement. These fees are exorbitant and outrageous and I just felt that they should be reported for over charging their client's people. No one should have to pay such high fees just because the condo assocation feels it can charge them because they can and have the power to do so. I really think the owners should rise up and overthrow their condo association caretaker!
