Leverage Connection sent me an information package by mail that said they can lower my credit card interest rates for $995, I called them and said I dont want to lower my rates I just want to put all my 7 credit card balances onto one card, they promised they will get me approved for a credit card so I can transfer all my balances over to one card.

They were very nice on the phone then when I said okay to their promise and I gave them my credit card info.

(By the way why would a company that is trying to help me get rid of my credit card debt take payments only through credit card?).

When I called them up that I was already charged $995 by my credit card but have not heard from them yet the girl that picked up the phone, Alex, was real nasty. First she knocked down the phone, then when I called back she said that their company lowered my rates by 5% and I saved $5000. I checked all my credit cards but not one of them were lowered. and I don't have that much debt that 5% would save me $5000.

when I called again Alex told me I have to speak to Selena that does bookkeeping, but Selena is at their sister office and she is out for lunch now, she will call me back in 10 minutes

Of course nobody ever called me back and every time I would call they would either knock down the phone or put me on hold forever.

This is there number is 1-866-646-8102 or 1-866-847-2911(the one they gave me). Report them to the FTC every time they call. Report them to your attorney general, too. Call them once in a while, they have to pay for it. Ask them to stop calling you.

I received the same call!

AUTHOR: Askeptic - (U.S.A.)

First of all I am a skeptic of anybody that calls me and it sounds like a call center in the background so when I received this exact same call tonight my radar went up.

I pressed 1 to speak with someone to to lower my credit card rates. 'Tina' came on the line, asked me for my telephone number and name. I thought it was odd that I had to give them my telephone number considering they just called me.

I was then asked if I had a credit balance over $3000 and was my average interest rate over 15%. I said yes and she asked me to get my credit card with the highest interest and give her the 1-800 number off the back. Okay.

Then she asked me to "verify" my account number. I said okay tell me what you have. She said, "no, I need you to tell me what it is because it is illegal for me to give out your cc# because you could be just somebody answering the phone." I chuckled and said, "My thoughts exactly! I never give out my cc# over the phone unless I called." She explained that she understood and that there is a law that protects me, blah, blah, blah. At this point bells were going off very loudly so I turned the table and started asking her questions.

What is the catch? "There is no catch." What is the charge? "Once you are qualified I will transfer you to an account manager who will give you all of the details." Are you a consolidation service? "No." What is the name of your company? "We are a consumer service company." Do you have a website? "Yes, but I can't give it to you until you are signed up with us otherwise you might sign up for the wrong program." All I received were lame answers and the run around.

In the end I was bored so I told her that I wasn't interested and she very nastily replied, "Fine but I have to inform you that I have to notify your lender that you refused to lower your rates and you will be stuck with your high interest rate for years." Whatever!

In todays world of identity theft you have to watch out for yourself! If you didn't call them directly then be suspicious and guard your information like it is your life line - because it is!!

They called me to

AUTHOR: Dawn - (U.S.A.)

I got the automated phone call, then a person came on the line. They were very convincing - and I'm a die-hard skeptic. But when "kami" got angry, I knew it was a scam.

Read my report on these guys - you can reduce your rates with your credit cards yourself.

And since they didn't reduce your rates as they stated they would, you should file a lawsuit against them for breach of contract. What they typically do is call your credit card company and see if they can get it reduced - which is what you can do all by yourself in two minutes.

Leverage Connection charged you for a service they didn't provide.

Oh, by the way, they wanted to slap $1450.00 on my card for doing what I ended up doing myself... for free. Just think of all those poor elderly people out there that are getting soaked with this scam. Technically, it's legal because they're charging for a service, so they can get away with it. But, in your case, if they didn't reduce your rate, you can take action.

Good Luck.
