Lexmark International ripoff on rebate. never stated that target was not a store to shop at deceptive company California

i recently purchased a new dell pc. i needed a printer/scanner, i have a lexmark at my office and have likede it. i went to my local target store to purchase the xs1150. i did not know about about tyhe $50.00 rebate at the time. when i found out, i called lexmark to apply, i was told buying at target is no good. nowhere does lexmark have this stated. also my neighbor is on her 4th lexmark in less than a year, does not show much for lexmark.
