I bought a LG TV on 10-17-11 from Brandsmart. I came home from work Monday to find my Tv on the floor. The Tv stand that hold the TV snapped clean off.

I called the  warranty company because i bought the ultimate warranty. However they do not cover shattered screens. I was then told to contact the manufractuer as the problem seem to be a defective stand.

So afetr dealing with LG for almost a week and waiting for a tech they asked for my receipt which I sent in. So they are using the 1 year warranty as a reason they will not replace the screen. Also said if they sent a tech i will have to pay for it.

seriously stressed the material. Unless hanging from the wall by the stand or other unusual pressure, it likely wouldn't have failed. The TV had a one year warranty and the mfr is within their rights to deny warranty service or replacement.  If ANY part failed after 1-1/2 years it could conceivably be claimed as a manufacturing defect. Do you have kids or large dogs. No, I don't work for LG.  Sorry your TV got broken.

The Screen was shattered, so the Warrenty company is not responsible for the screen. So you went to LG, and they only have a 1 year manufacturer's warrenty. 17 Months had passed since you bought the tv.  that is over 1 1/2 years.

I am sure the stand was defective, but since it broke after the 1 year manufacturer warrenty the cost of repair now falls on you.  You fell through the cracks, and technically LG is correct about the 1 year warrenty. It sucks I know, but sometimes $hit Happens.  I am sure with a shattered screen, the entire TV will have to be replaced.
