LifeVantage Corporation Protandim LifeVantage Protandim recalled due to metal in supplement no refunds given Sandy, Utah

Before I get to the complaint, I should tell you about the company. The company, LifeVantage, is a multi-level marketing company. Rather than become a distributor for this company, I decided to try their product first. I ordered 2 bottles and scheduled my 1st automatic shipment of 1 bottle per month for 2 months in the future. This is what they called a preferred customer in which I saved a little money by using the automatic shipment rather than ordering when I felt like it.

I visited my doctor during the 2nd bottle and my blood pressure was extremely higher than 6 months prior. I stopped taking the product to determine if that was causing it. My blood pressure was extremely high but my doctors automatic blood pressure reading machine was out of calibration that resulted in the more extreme readings than would be expected. We determined this because I had my blood pressure taken at the nurses office at work and manually taken by the nurse at my doctors office. The readings were higher but not way out of scope like they were with his machine. I still do not know if the product was the cause of the high blood pressure as I have not been back to the doctor after those couple of visits when we thought that there was a blood pressure problem.

I received my 1st automatic shipment of their product just when I was about ready to start the product again. The product name is Protandim. It is listed as a dietary supplement. Within a few days of receiving the shipment, I was emailed a RECALL NOTICE by LifeVantage. They indicated 10 different lots of their product were being recalled due to the lack of quality control in the manufacturing of their product. They indicated that one of the ingredients of their product contained metal. They did not indicate what the metal was (lead, mercury, tin, ...) I never resumed taking their product because I did not know if prior lots were tainted and they were not aware of it.

Here where the problem occurs. I contacted the company to cancel all future shipments of their products. I then requested a refund of the money that I had spent on the product plus shipping. I was told that no cash refunds would be given. They did offer to give me another bottle of the product as a replacement. I told them via phone calls and emails that I did not trust the quality of their product and wanted a cash refund rather than any more of their product. They have refused to refund my money. I have contacted the FDA, the Attorney General for the states of California and Utah in which they have offices. To date, my money has not been refunded.

I would advise everyone to stay away from this company. Their quality control does not protect the consumer. They are not honorable in refunding monies to consumers that have been sold tainted products. If you are a distributor, you may have legal action taken against you for selling the tainted products. You may win in court but only after expensive legal services. Beware of this company!
