It's a long story, so to make it short, I overpaid Linuxwebhost $110.00 and they admit to owing me at LEAST $80.00, but they deny they overbilled me, reducing the ammount to 80 from 110. I have proof. They kept asking for it and I initially sent the emails as attachments showing the doublebilling, but they ignored it. My husband contacted them and copy and pasted the actual emails, providing the proof and I haven't heard from them since then.

You can view the correspondence here: http://208.56.8.112/view.php?ticketref=5402-NMTQ-8662&pass=beca8986

If the address is removed, I'll provide it in this blog.

I've saved everything to my computer and to several CDs that I can send to several people of importance.

I've come to believe Linuxwebhost is nothing but a pimple-faced geek living with his mother in a damp dark basement, selling space on his computer he would normally have filled up with interactions from a girlfriend if he had one.

The beginning letter starts out:

Many months ago I increased my payments so I would have enough to cover me if I missed an email. I had the credit balance built up to $110.00 (please see file attachment). I didn't normally read the emails sent because I knew it said the payment was received. Today I decided to read it and was shocked to find out my balance is $68.20 instead of $110.00 that should be
there. I went back to my bank statements to see if any payments were missed. They weren't. I've paid the entire amount of $10.95 due every month since I've built the credit to $110.00. I checked the emails to see if any extra was taken out for domain name and couldn't find any. Then I checked the dates of the emails sent for payment due and payment received and there were
several instances where I was billed twice in the month and the payment was taken out of the credit. Each time, this dropped the credit amount $10.95 less than the previous balance.

Please review your statements and credit back the $110.00 total.

Thank you.

They replied:

Thank you for registering and hosting your site with Linux Web Host. We appreciate your business.

Your account currently has a $79.15 credit balance.

We have been billing you $10.95 per month on the 10th of each month since July 10, 2002 for the Linux 50 MB hosting plan. You initially paid $40.00 for two years of registration services on July 10, 2002. In November 2003, you switched from paying by credit card to paying by check and you started sending us checks for $10.95 each month. We have also been billing you $20.00 per year since July 2005 for the renewal of the registration of your domain. Since that time your total costs have been $151.40 per year.

Since you started paying by check, we have received 42 different checks from you for $10.95 each. We received one $20 check from you on August 1, 2005. We received 4 different checks from you for $33.00 each from August through November 2005. Each check has been credited to your account when we received it. Since your account's inception, we have only billed you for hosting services ($10.95 monthly) and registration charges ($20.00 annually).

Your account balance was last at $110.10 on the morning of April 10, 2007, after we posted your check # 3470833 for $10.95. Since then, we have billed your account 4 times for $10.95 (April 10, 2007, May 10, 2007, June 10, 2007, and July 10, 2007). We billed you once for registration renewal ($20.00 on June 11, 2007). Since then, we have received 3 different $10.95 checks from you.
****************************
Funny thing is, according to the emails, I never did have $110.00 by April 7th. They had stolen that money months ago.

They claim they sent the check, but I haven't seen it and I know they haven't sent it.

They will regret doing this to me if they don't pay what they owe. I don't live too far away from them.
