We entered (June 2019) into a contract with Custom K9 Performance (aka Luv N Care Boarding & Grooming, New Mexico Malinois Rescue) for our dog Lord to be trained and titled with BH, AD, IGP1, and KKL. Lisa Berry, the owner, charged us $8500. She had been training a dog (owned by another individual) from our breeding for almost a year and was really impressed with him.

She offered $2000 off our training in exchange for his sister, Banshee von Sven. Months went by with excuses after excuses. Heat, headaches...you name it for why she was not training our dog. In October Lisa suggested we send our dog to another trainer to start and finish what she hadn't. We then considered it a breach of contract and immediately flew to New Mexico to retrieve Lord.

At this time we were not aware of the abuse and neglect going on at this facility under her care. Lord returned weighing 65lbs (about 12lbs less than when we sent him) and was present with a skin staph infection. He was timid and fearful. Displaying aggression toward other dogs. We were in total shock of his condition, hurt, and guilt ridden. GOOD NEWS, Lord is still recovering and at 72lbs now. Staph is gone and we are working on his behavior and he is coming around great!

The important matter at hand is Banshee von Sven. She sadly is still there suffering under her care and Lisa refuses to turn her over to us. We are the legal owners and with her breach she has no legal rights to her. We were provided documentation showing that Banshee is a victim of her abuse as well. Text messages where Lisa states Banshee is, in her own words, "completely emaciated and wasted away". I confronted Lisa with this and she just blames her employees.

We have more text where Lisa states she purposely does not feed dogs for days. She calls it "fasting". We have pictures of the nasty kennels packed high with feces and urine. And to add to that, she demands her employees feed the dogs by throwing kibble on the ground in their kennel mixed with their own feces and urine. I have been in contact with over a dozen people in just 1 week and I anticipate there are more to come.

It is our main goal at this point to get Banshee back and we could use anyone's help that may have suggestions or advice. We have our own way we are moving forward but It won't be a quick. We feel its urgent to get Banshee out of there. We have contacted the police, animal welfare, rescues, attorney general, you name it. They all drag their feet.

We have talked to victims that were scammed out of $1000's and some whose dogs were destroyed mentally. Even worse, some of the victims have even suffered losing their dogs to death under her care. The animals are not the only victims. We the owners are suffering mentally for what we were unaware of, the abuse and neglect our dogs went through under her care. We are speaking out for those who are scared and those who are not aware.

The abuse and neglect does not end with dogs, it continues to other animals such as pigs, mice, etc.. These are not opinions. These are FACTS. This is not to slander or defamatory in any way.
