I was prescribed a drug called Lisinopril and within 2-3 weeks i was in 4th stage Renal Failure. I now have to Catherize every day just to do the simple everyday urination process. I have done extensive research on this medication and found it was removed off of the shevles and Banned in Panama after many mysterious deaths linked to this drug. There is report afer report on the very serious side effects of this drug but remains on the market in the USA because it is cheaper then the brand name. There is also a Nephrologist in Fla. who petitioned the FA to remove this drug and all ACE inhibitoros that are being used for hypertension. In this Doctors studies he has founf that ace inhibitors have no benifit to lowering blood pressure and there are too many other more effective drugs that can be used with a lot less side effect. I saw a u tube video on a healthy woman of 35 with a very young set of twins was givin the death sentence news that she had suffered Liver Failure and now needs a transplant after using this drug for only 3 months. Luckily she got her transplant but now has to live in fear every day that will fail too from rejection. There are many people who have suffered very serious long term perminate side effects and we have all yet to get an Attorney with enough Guts to take on this lawsuit. WHAT WE NEED IS EVERYONE EFFECTED TO COME FOWARD WITH THERE STORY AND POST IT HERE SO WE CAN GET THIS ALL OVER THE INTERNET. THEN WE NEED TO START BOMBARDING OUR GOVERNMENT TO DO SOMETHING. THAT MEANS YOUR STATE SENATOR,GOVENOR ALL THE WAY UP TO THE PRESIDENT OF THE USA TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS. WE NEED TO START ENDING OUR STORIS AND FLOOD THE OFFICES OF GOVERNMENT AND THE FDA THEN WE NEED A LAWYER TO SUE FOR DAMAGES. i ALSO NOTICED MOST OF THESE dOCTORES NEVER EVEN DID A BLOOD TEST TO TEST YOUR KIDNEY AND LIVER FUNCTION BECAUSE A LOT OF PEOPLE DON'T REALIZE THEY MAY HAVE A PRE-EXISTING CONDITION BECAUSE IT IS CLEARLY INDICATED AS A WARNING THAT IT CAN CAUSE RENAL AND LIVER FAILURE. SO IF YOU ARE 1 OF THESE PEOPLE PLEASE RESPOND AND GET THIS GOING!!!

Lisinopril & Renal Failure

I am shocked at the information I "now" have research on this drug I have been given for the last 4 years, never once thinking I should have to look up or research something my Doctor gives me to keep my blood pressure in check. But this past Monday, was the final straw, being taken to the ER with kidney failure, after wakening to what I assumed was the flu. I was throwing up and diarhhea for over 8 hours with no breaks, I went in to find out my kidneys had shut down. Not the flu at all. When the ER Doctor asked me about meds I was taking I said Lisinopril 40mg once daily, his only comment was "aww ha". Now I decided to check things out, and sure enough there are 1000's of people on the web with similar complaints to what I just experienced. I had high potassium levels and my blood work was "grossly abnormal" to the point where the ER doctor told me to not take that medicine any more.
When I started reading about the experiences of other patients, I took all along had these same issues and was told this was due to "age". Like chronic joint pain, depression, anxiety....all because when I went to my doctor for not feeling good, I actually cried because I could not express how severly horrible my body felt all the time. He prescribes me anti-anxiety medication for that too....which I did not take because I KNOW that there has to be an answer and it's not a pill. My libido was shot for the last few years...which is totally abnormal for me and I know it. Everything that could happen as a side effect of this drug I have experienced with the exception of liver failure. I was diagnosed and have been treated for all kinds of colon disorders, Crhons, everything, and have been put through literal hell not being able to leave my home due to problems like this. ALL of which other patients of this drug have experienced and informed their doctors of, only to be ignored and prescribed this drug again and again. Now I totally understand my weakness, being dizzy, tired,....all of it. I pray someone stands with me and does something to stop this drug from being prescribed. Thank you

I've been on Lisinopril 20mg for over 6 years and have had no side effects or kidney/liver problems. It works well for me. Lowering my blood pressure to normal. Maybe some undiagnosed problems existed for the others.

been taking lisinopril for 3 years and it lowered my blood pressure significantly without any side effects. my last drug did a number on me with heart palpitations and feeling pounding in my head.
