Local.com is an internet reputation extortion racket that pretends to be a helpful utility for use in finding local businesses and seeing local reviews about those businesses. They will publish damaging material about your business, and then demand "protection money" ($49.95 per month) to have it removed or to have a chance to respond.

When they publish damaging material about your business, it will show up in Google results searching on your name - BUT - if you go their site and search for your business name (such as if you were potential customer), it will not show up in search results on their site unless you are not paying the monthly protection racket money.

In other words, if you do not pay, they WILL publish damaging information on the internet that shows up in search engines ... but they will NOT allow customers to find you in their scam Local.com website even if the customers search by your business name.

Even more important, they will publish the negative information more than once -- for example, they will take ONE negative "one star" report and publish it five times, making it look like you have a one star rating across five seperate reviews. This is absolute internet blackmail.

For example, we have a review published by a local.com "user" who's screen name is "IDGAS" ... look up the meaning of that acronym, it means "I don't give a S***". This one review appears five times, and we are not allowed to respond unless we pay the $49 per month. See it yourself here:
