I am late on this reply but wanted to comment. I would NOT recommend Love4Digital. I attempted to order a C-3040 from them today and got the "bait and switch" with accessories. Then when I attempted to cancel this portion of the order (an overpriced accessory pack which I later realized I didn't need most of), the sales-punk working there attempted to bargain then to connive, then bully me with inflated shipping/insurance charge (they wanted to charge me 90.00 to ship the camera (2 day UPS yes, but that should still run 25.00 - 30.00 total at the most) - $40.00 of which was quoted as UPS "insurance" bonded by a 3rd party - NONE of this was mentioned on the web page total). I asked to speak to the manager.
When I attempted to cancel the order (mind you this is all within the space of an hour, on a Sunday) they wanted to hit me with a restocking fee. First 15%, then when I called back and quoted their webpage (which is now printed and saved) - citing their cancellation policy of no restocking fee unless it is special order or a physical return - they cut it to a 5% restocking fee. A total of 4.00 isn't going to kill me but I still did not agree to pay the restocking fee and simply asked for a cancellation of the order, and I have sent a letter and an email to this effect. I also notified my credit card company and asked them to ban all charges from this merchant. I will dispute any charges that come through.
I am looking at several reliable ebay merchants and possibly buydig.com - though one conversation with a buydig salesperson nearly equalled the sleaze of love4digital.com.
At least Ray (manager) of love4digital was civil and even-toned with me as a customer - though he still attempted to weasel the measily restocking fee out of me. And though I WELL know the hassle of insurance issues of UPS/Fedex, I can't justfiy charging an extra 40.00 for insurance only.
But the saleskid and overall company attitude reminded me of a 1988 Radio Shack mentality (I worked for Tandy then, trust me...I know the drill). This is NOT how to gain the trust and happiness of a returning customer base. Even with this shipping I'd still have paid much less for the C-3040 than from most dealers. But I can not justify this kind of bait and switch, inflated shipping costs, and abusive salesmanship tactics.
