My husband just bought me a 2007 Honda Odyssey with less than 6000 miles on it from Luxury Import Cars in Long Island City, New York. We asked the guy if it had ever been in any accidents and he said NO.

Well upon closer inspection it has been in an accident, I can plainly see where the passenger side has been repainted, the doors don't line up, and it is rattling when I go over bumps. Now I am concerned that the vehicle won't be safe if we get into an accident. Who knows if the airbags have been properly repaired or if the unibody will be able to protect my family after already having been damaged.

Carfax does not show any history of accidents. It does, however show potential odometer fraud. The dealer assured us this was a mistake by showing us a clean title with the actual mileage on it. Now I don't know anymore. He lied about the accident I'm sure he lied about the mileage too. What did we just pay $22500 for? How could this creep sell a pregnant woman with a toddler on her lap an unsafe vehicle to drive?

Look Before You Leap

Didn't you look at the car and drive it before you bought it? Did the rattles start AFTER you bought it? Can't you sight down the side of a car and notice misaligned doors? Why do you think a used car dealer has a 6,000 mile Honda? Why did it go to auction? Why didn't a Honda dealer bid on it? You need to think about these things. If you were going to pay $22,500 for a year old Honda why didn't you go to a Honda dealer? Did you take the car to a mechanic before you bought it? Obviously not. Next time take the time to check out a car before you buy it.
