Is LVNV a legitimate collection agency. They have been reporting on my credit report since 5/2004 although I have not gotten anything in writing from them. They were also reporting that they were actively collecting on this debt while other collection agencies were reporting the same debt (see thread here http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/ripoff153174.htm). I don't mind paying my debt but refuse to go through another scam. It is ridiculous. They claim that everything is correct as reported (I disputed through CreditTrax) last month. What next steps should I take, and does anyone else have the same experience?

LVNV Funding and Sherman Acquisitions are the same

Is this legal? If they are one and the same company, how can they possibly both be able to report as the collection agency on my credit report when Sherman Acquisitions apparently sold the debt to someone else? Something doesn't smell right here. Now I really want to know what is going on.
