This is the most impenitently dishonest company I have ever dealt with.

April 21ish: Chose non-expedited shipping for my car with Magic Car Transport; received order 1181 for *expedited* shipping at a higher price.  Called to  cancel.  Re-ordered non-expedited shipping (order 1182 generated), $120 deposit.  Suspicious but not damning.

April 22: Signed invoice authorizing car transport at $525; the deposit price had migrated to $125, plus $5 fee, totaling $130.

April 25: Left message with Anthony N. requesting shipping status. They haven't returned that call or any others since then--since having my money, in other words.

May 1: E-mailed Magic demanding deposit back.  They e-mailed an excuse--something to the effect of, "Just give us a few more days."  I insisted: cancel my order and return my deposit.

May 2: "Your order has been canceled." They added: **Please allow 7 to 10 days from the day of cancellation email to receive your refund. Take in mind that you signed a contract that clearly states that you waive the right to dispute your deposit. If you do a chargeback/dispute within the 7 to 10 days from your cancellation date you will automatically lose your deposit.

This is a complete fabrication, as 1) this is nowhere in the contract, and 2) it's almost certainly illegal to disallow chargebacks.

May 14ish: I post my first review of Magic Car Transport on TransportReviews.com

May 16: Received from TransportReviews: "This email is to let you know your review was removed from our site at www.transportreviews.com. The reason for removal is that Magic Car Transport LLC is unable to locate your order and has no way of proving that you are a customer of theirs."  I am furious and dumbfounded.

May 23: I sent verification documents to Transport Reviews and my review returned to the site.  Magic replied: "WE do apologize that you car was not picked up on a timely manner. But as you already know your refund has been submitted to you in full, plus $50 for the inconvenience. Again we greatly regret that you car was not picked up, but if you could just waited two more days we had a driver that was ready to pick up your vehicle."

NO!  What they have given me for my inconvenience is NOT $50 but MORE INCONVENIENCE.  And persistent, outrageous lies.  My guess is, this company (in existence since February 2013) is composed of people who have been doing this a long time in other capacities.  They'll take the money of those who don't follow up with them, who don't initiate credit card disputes, who are too cowed or busy or confused to deal with them firmly. You simply don't get this bold and dishonest overnight.  These guys have had practice somewhere.

They STILL have not refunded my money, much less given me "$50 for the inconvenience". My credit card company took over, and Magic is their problem now.  I hope they do not become yours as well.

If you follow Anthony Nunez' trail of fraud, you'll find him connected with many other "car transport" companies besides just Magic.  According to this review (http://www.transportreviews.com/review/00040868.asp), he went to jail for credit card fraud. If true, he's obviously out now. See also Car Movers USA reviews here: http://www.transportreviews.com/company/car-movers-usa_2.asp

If you've had dealings with Anthony Nunez, Magic Car Transport, Apollo Auto Transport, or any of his other shell companies, I wouldn't report them first to the BBB.  I'd go to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration: https://nccdb.fmcsa.dot.gov/ (select “Public”, then “Household Goods”). Phone: (888) 368-7238 and the
Miami-Dade County Consumer Protection Office: http://www.co.miami-dade.fl.us/csd/ Phone: (305) 375-3677.

THEN go to the BBB: Better Business Bureau of Southeast Florida: http://seflorida.app.bbb.org/filecomplaint. Phone: (561) 842-1918. But don't expect much. Given my dealings with them, they are potentially crooked, or at least reluctantly honest.
