In August 2018, I noticed a 2007 Lincoln TownCar on Cargurus.com, being sold by Manny's Auto Sales in Hammonton, NJ. Actual address is 323 S. White Horse Pike, Winslow, NJ 08037. I called the dealership regarding this vehicle. (Last six on the VIN is 618464) I asked 2 questions before I took the long drive. (The best cash offer price? and Do you have the title at the dealership?) BRENDA, who is the owner's wife response was, "We'll discuss the price when you arrive and Yes, we have the title." I then took the drive to Winslow and test drove the car, which ran okay. I noticed minor issues with it, but nothing I couldn't handle. Now, onto the price…….Asking price of $6500.00 is way too HIGH for this car.  Now, in EXCELLENT CONDITION this car retails for $5150. Avi, who's the owner and handyman mechanic offered the car to me for $5600 and agreed to repair the windshield wiper sprayer. From 8/28/18 to 9/3/18, I continued to call the dealership to see if they had received the title. I spoke with BRENDA. (Still No Title) Finally, on the afternoon of 9/4/18, BRENDA called me and stated she had received the title. I went to the dealership on 9/5/18 to close the deal and take my 3rd Town Car home. During the closing of the deal, it was determined that BRENDA had told another lie regarding the title being at the dealership, which caused me to delay giving this dealership my money. However, in good faith, I did complete the paperwork and put a $100 deposit to hold the car. Now, because of the history/reviews of BRENDA’S DECEPTION, I delayed picking up my car because I wanted to give Manny’s Auto Sales more than enough time to get the title.

On 9/20/18, I went to the dealership with my CERTIFIED MECHANIC to finally get my car.  While my mechanic was doing a thorough check under the hood, I was doing a thorough check of the Interior and Trunk. I flipped the front passenger mat over and saw moisture under the mat. I ran my hand across the carpet which was wet. I then removed the rear mats and there was standing water on the floor. I called Avi (Owner) over to the car. Before I could get all the words out of my mouth, he said, “WE LEFT THE WINDOWS DOWN ACCIDENTLY. (”The Lie Detector Test determined that was a lie” too.) Why not vacuum the water out before my arrival?  Because, he didn’t expect my mechanic and I arrive before the dealership opened. He pulled the vehicle over to the garage to vacuum the water out. After Avi finished I then asked for a water hose. I turned the water hose on and placed it over the windshield wiper area while my mechanic was watching the front passenger side floor. Water was coming into the car once again. (COMMON PROBLEM WITH LINCOLN TOWN CARS, FORD CROWN VICTORIA and MERCURY MARQUIS) The gasket under the pan wears out. Unfortunately, you have to purchase the entire pan with new gasket. Avi said, “YOU TAKE THE CAR AND I’LL TAKE $200 OFF.”

I knew how to make the repair and even showed Avi how to do so, but declined to his offer. I told him to make the repairs, because I’m well aware of potential problems this issue can cause. (BEWARE OF CARS THAT HAS HAD STANDING WATER) First, you don’t know how long the problem existed, if the water passed by electrical wiring, if the floorboard has begun to rust and if mildew is in the padding under the carpet. When I told Avi of my concerns, he simply said, “I will give you your deposit back” and began to put the car back together. THE CAR WAS BACK UP FOR SALE AND ON THE LOT WITHIN 1 HOUR NO REPAIRS. I then walked into the office, only to be cursed out by Brenda, who had me sign the purchase order for my $100 refund. When I requested for a copy of the document I just signed and the destruction of all the documents with my driver's license, insurance information, social security number and more, she flat out refused and told me to get the hell out of her business before she calls the police. Now, considering I'm Law Enforcement as well, I didn't want any issues and left without further incident.
