Horror story about heartless children teachers in Staten Island (Great Kills)   My name is Richard and I was the owner of Skies The Limit Tutoring. I wanted to write this email/post because my heart breaks for how two teachers out of a horror movie treated my family who is going through a very difficult time medically. I am a local Staten Island, NY resident my wife Jennifer developed breast cancer at the young age of only 39 years old. She worked during the September 11th attacks in 2 World Trade Center and the exposure to the toxins in the air is what developed the breast cancer. Jennifer is the mother of our beautiful two children Michael (7 years old) and Sophia (4 years old).    It was always our dream to open a local tutoring center for children and on October of 2017 we accomplished that goal and opened Skies The Limit Tutoring in Great Kills. We invested $75,000 in buying many thousands of dollars worth of educational books and curriculum's that covered all subjects from Pre-k to 12th grade.

The next step was to hire two local teachers Maria Accardi Pidluznyj and Brittany D'Avino. The teacher's job was primary to use the educational books that were purchased to create and organize lesson plans and assessments for the students being it was a new business and there was not too many students. We actually only had in a 10 month period only 4 students it was very slow. But still even though it was slow Richard and Jennifer kept paying Maria Accardi Pidluznyj and Brittany D'Avino each and every day because even though they both did not have that many students to teach they both were spending the majority of their time creating and organizing lesson plans and assessments. Unfortunately, Jennifer's breast cancer reached a stage 4 level and due to other personal family health issues, we were forced to close Skies The Limit Tutoring after trying their very best after 10 months.   When Richard explained to Maria Accardi Pidluznyj and Brittany D'Avino that due to his wife's medical condition and family circumstances that Skies The Limit Tutoring was going to be closed both teachers left the office very emotional and promised to return the keys at another time being they were very upset.

The next day when I went to my office I noticed all of the lesson plans, assessments and curriculum's were gone, they were stolen. When I called Maria Accardi Pidluznyj and Brittany D'Avino both teachers said they were angry and hurt at me for closing the business and pretty much admitted to taking all of the lesson plans, assessments and curriculum's. Then they stopped returning my calls and texts asking for the lesson plans, assessments and curriculum's back.    This caused a major financial lost to both me and my wife who spent the majority of their $75,000 investment on creating these lesson plans, assessments and curriculum's. The real concern is these teacher's are now back on the market looking for new jobs in our community. This email/post is meant to let the Staten Island community know to not hire Maria Accardi Pidluznyj and Brittany D'Avino who committed a horrible crime and in our opinion these teachers are not fit to work with children.

If they are capable of stealing God only knows what else they are capable of doing and protecting the children in our community is our biggest priority.    We attached pictures of Maria Accardi Pidluznyj and Brittany D'Avino. A police report has been filed regarding this matter. In the end it is very heartbreaking that a family dealing with a young mother with stage 4 breast cancer and other personal family health issues is so much to handle along with staying strong for our two children. We really did not need a crime from teachers who we paid everyday, treated like family to hurt us and destroy our dream by stealing all of the hard work and finances we put into this business.
