Marie Elaine MacCormack Ree, Marie MacCormack Scammed horses from me, neglected them and had them seized by Animal Control and Maine State Police, killed a 5 week old foal Troy Maine

This is in response to Marie MacCormack's rebuttal report. Lisa and I did not file a complaint with the Maine Animal welfare department. The original calls were made by the young lady who worked for her, and had repeatedly asked her to provide water and turnout for the mare who lost the foal. As she was a teenager, she was not taken seriously, so, the property owner, Eileen Gage, once she became aware that she had a dead horse on her property, filed the report. THIS IS WHAT PROMPTED THE AUTHORITIES TO INVESTIGATE AND REMOVE THE HORSES TO PROTECTIVE CUSTODY. Eileen owned the property that Marie rented to "care" for these horses, her own, and the 5 that she was in the process of purchasing from myself and Lisa Layton.

Marie MacCormick is uttering lies and half truths to support an absolutely untenable position. First, her half truth:my BOYFRIEND does threaten to shoot horses, He has for 8+ years. She BEGGED me for horses for almost TWO years,  HALF TRUTH; arrested for larceny and fraud, a tractor stolen off my property by a heroine addict was blamed on me, my BF, and a friend who was not even there, he lived in VA. I was completely cleared, innocent.

HALF TRUTH; I asked her for money every week, and in no way didn't make my claim or forfiet what she owed me. I am sure the other person she stole from can verify that.

NON-TRUTH,; the foal was 100% Healthy, she killed it and put the mare in an emaciated state. I have pictures

NON-TRUTH; she fired the girl helping her, and did not pay her either, when the girl suggested she bring water
Marie MacCormick is mentally unbalanced, and does NOT pay her bills. She essentially stole or tried to steal five horses that we know of, perhaps more.

My record of success speaks loudly for me, I have superb show winning bloodlines, and magnificent horses. I am placing them because of health reasons, and I am not young any more, I recognize my limitations. I am tired of inadequate assistance from uneducated help, and will not subject my horses to ignorant people intentionally, as I did in this case. Further, Marie has continued to cruise the internet attempting to acquire more horses, while this case remains unresolved. I am NOT THE ONLY ONE SHE DEFRAUDED.

 Lisa Layton continues to hide behind what she thinks is her god given first ammendment right to slander and cause harm with malicious intent.  Lisa Layton's husband continued to threaten to shoot her horses so I agree reluctantly to take 2 of the horses, 1 on a breeding lease and 1 on contract to purchase.  Lisa never enforced the contract so violated her own contract.  The horses were in foal and also in need of dental work but my vet advised against any dental work until they had foaled.  Animal Welfare responding to complaints from Lisa Layton and Janet Lewis came to the property and seized my horses because of Lisa's mare who had a cracked hoof and deformed teeth from an obvious injury which she had not tended to.  I had no idea whether the horses had current shots, they arrived without a current coggins report, she had transported them illegally across state lines, my mistake was to trust her and allow them in my pasture space.  Because of Lisa's lack of care at her farm the foal was born unhealthy.  The young lady I had hired did not spend enough time at the farm to know anything that was going on so again false allegations.  As I have not been charged I feel this report was written to cause harm.  Lisa Layton has been arrested for Grand Theft and Fraud Charges so her false claims are just that angry false accusations.  Luckily we are innocent until proven guilty. The Mare was provided with nessesary shelter, water and food at no time did I abuse any of Lisa Layton's of Asil Arabians and Araloosas horses nor Janet Lewis's Horses (Sunbridge Sadderley, Nunda NY) There is a pending Appeal and a Federal Lawsuit so I can not elaborate any further.
