i signed up for the class to become a taxi driver by the phone with master cabbie school in long island city . the lady on the phone never mentioned that there will be no refund . and i don't have the right to cancel the class < it is like one way trip> you pay you lose your money .it is a total rip off .
she told me on the phone that she will gave me a promotion if signed up with her 50$ off
so i paid 645$ through the phone
they will use your need of a job to rip u off,and in the the class you will get nothing. you will be setting next to those who has been there for weeks or even months ,,every thing is missed up there .try other schools

Master Cabbie....Ripoff??

I'm neither of these two parties, but I recently had an experiece with Master Cabbie myself so I just want to share my own thoughts.
Master Cabbie is in fact a ripoff in my opinion, they don't teach anything in their classes, instead they waste your time with a million breaks trying to make sure if TLC walks in they seem like they're actually "doing something". It'll be much better of if they simply teach 5 hours instead of wasting 8 hrs with unusual amounts of breaks...the operative word being "Teach" and not waste time.
Secondly they don't prepare you for anything at all, the map reading shouldn't be a whole day because its common sense to READ a map. The instructor acts like he's really doing something brilliant, which he's not. The rules should be half a day, and they should actually TEACH the rest of the 3 day class with geography questions.
They should "UPDATE" thier yellow book, because it's garbage. The test includes questions that's not in the book at all, you really should serve yourself better to study online. And to top it all off these guys do not take any responsibility.
Go to a different school, Master Cabbie seems more like a front for conning new immigrants who barely speak English and Master Cabbie instructors act almighty with these poor guys and act as if they're actually smart, which they really aren't, most of them are immigrants themselves, so I don't see why they treat these other guys with such arrogance.

first of all using capital letters doesnt make you smart
_u said that the only reason to sign up for the class was the red book ,i dont know what you are talking about .and this is not right , the only reason i signed up for the class was looking for a new career . never heard befor about the red book or whatever you want to call it
- Thanks to you a a complaint will be filled against your red book in TLC , have fun with them
-Second of all I HAVE ASKED FOR A REFUND , i called the front desk lady for a refund she said NO REFUND
- Third of all i sent you an email asking for A REFUND OR EVEN partial REFUND and you said NO and here is a copy of the email for the world to see :

-no one asked me to return the red book or any thing however i was willing to sent it to you via usps if you willing to issue a refund ,,becuse you have almost 700$ and all i have from you is NO REFUND ,

The person making this claim fails to mention:
* His reason for contacing us was to obtain a "Red Book" Which are not sold but come as part of a program.
* The final contract was signed in our office. And the terms were clear
* He received three books with fair retail value of $60
* He was ALSO loaned an additional propietery book "The Red Book" which is still in his posession and no attempt to return it was ever made. The red Book is invaluable to someone who knows little of the City and is trying to pass the City geography exam.
* He NEVER ASKED FOR A REFUND. Instead, weeks after receiving our propietery materials he chose to call the Credit Card Comapany to try and cancel the transaction in hopes of not having to pay while keeping the books WHICH HE STILL HAS. The credit cfard company declined to cancel the transaction due to fairt value being delivered.
* HE ATTENDED CLASSES which I persoanlly taught.
It is our intention to assist persons in the persuit of a taxi driving license in New York City. Over the past 14 years we have done so for sixty thousand appplicants.
Learning specific aspects of the City exams is one of the most desired. Our propietery material is the most highly regarded in our micro niche industry and is well known among industry applicants as they prepare for their exams. Books are lost or stolen from time to time but no other book is stolen more than the Red Book due to its clear value to the aspiring taxi driver.
Like all business disputes this is unfortunate. This situation is beyond our control and no option to resolve it was ever offered.
