TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

First, my wife and I own a 2009 Subaru Forester on Chase auto lease and after the way i was treated today by Mastro Imports Subaru of Sanford, FL this will be my last Subaru.

The dealership reneged on a general manager approved sales contract signed by a Subaru authorized agent of the dealership. We had a car deal and the Subaru dealer broke it.

I was about to drive away with a left over but new 2008 Impreza manual which I had been given the keys the night before and brought back for wash and detail. The keys were taken away even though I met all obligations of the deal which I was told was clunker or no clunker we can do this cash deal

I had a 2002 Dodge Van to trade in that I left up to the dealership to determine if it would be acceptable as a clunker. They assured me it was OK and even if it wasnt they could do my deal for cash. They reneged on their word.

Joe Anglata the sales manager at the 11th hour told me "no deal" because the registration was not qualifying. I had told them many times I couldnt locate the registration but had title and insurance. Until that moment it was no problem. Mr Anglata was disrespectful of me as a customer and had no empathy.

Rather than demonstrate the honesty and integrity to honor their commitments Mastro Imports Subaru of Orlando allowed me to suffer embarrassment, grief and loss of transportation by denying me the car they allowed me to drive away the night before. I have a copy of the sales contract that they reneged on.

I had to find transportation back home and although I reached Pete Mastro by phone and he said he would investigate and get back to me but HE NEVER DID.

Please send me all the ways I can address this horrible treatment at the hands of Joe Anglata who punished me for doing everything in my power to provide the info the dealership requested and accepted but that at the last minute was rejected though they had the info for 2 weeks!!

If this situation is not resolved and I am not somehow compensated for my lost time and inconvenience, I will never ever set foot in a Subaru dealership again and I will crusade against this dealership to warn others about the unscrupulous and dishonest practices of Mastro Subaru.

Beware Mastro Subaru Orlando!

Mastro Subaru

AUTHOR: Dr. George - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, September 23, 2009

After reading the report filed by Dr. James, I can't help but feel embarrassed that someone of his supposed caliber and being a supposed fellow doctor would resort to this type of childish behavior. I have researched the history of this supposed "Dr. James" which left me underwhelmed:
http://www.doh.state.fl.us/mqa/FinalOrders/03-03-03/DOH-03-0084.pdf
My family and I have been doing business with Mastro for over three decades. Starting at their Tampa store and most recently this year at their more convenient local store in Sanford. My family has purchased a total of 11 Subarus from Mastro. I even sent my elderly grandmother "by herself" to purchase a new Subaru from Mastro where she was treated fairly and courteously, I never had to intervene. We service all of our Subarus at both Mastro locations and Mastro has never failed us on any level. To the contrary, they have only helped us, saved us untold amounts of money, and made every transaction with them pleasant, fair, and efficient. As a matter of fact, I have referred countless professional associates and close friends who have all given me the highest approval on their experience with Mastro.
I found the original report filed here to be vague, inconsistent, and appears to be an individual who is abusing their title of "Dr." to attack a family business that refused to break the law in order to accommodate him. A Note to the Public:  Placing "Dr." in front of your name does not entitle an individual to an online temper tantrum and slander. I researched the clunker issue myself before posting this rebuttal and found that the government rules are clear:  This "Dr. James' " vehicle may have met the qualification requirements for a clunker, however, without a valid registration, the vehicle's stats are irrelevant. The government clunker website is very clear: Valid registration - no exceptions.
If "Dr. James" is infact a "Dr.," then, he surely would have a valid registration at his disposal as most of us, even those of us with no "Dr." as a prefix, are required to have a valid legal registration for a vehicle in one's name. Someone as obviously detail-oriented as "Dr. James" would also have surely thoroughly researched the clunker rules and regulations and most assuredly can differenciate between a title and/or a registration. Upon closer inspection, "Dr. James" refers to purchasing a previous Subaru from Mastro. If Mastro was indeed the horrible company he claims to have "punished" him, why would he return to purchase again? He utilizes a diverse vocabulary, then, defaults to using "reneged," which is not a term common for a doctor in good standing to use. In observation, he unreasonably threatens to make all Subaru dealerships pay for this issue by "never setting foot in another Subaru dealership again." His report also appears to be composed strictly in preparation for a lawsuit. His report being injected with terms such as "punished" "lost time" "compensated." One last observation, it is customary, however, for a car dealership to allow a customer to take a vehicle overnight before making a final purchase decision. My family, friends and I have all taken vehicles overnight from Mastro and never felt obligated to purchase.
Putting Mastro in the position of having to decline sale of a vehicle due to a registration issue is not only unfair, but, is also demonstrating the "willingness" of this supposed "Dr. James" to participate in underhanded activities to benefit his objectives if Mastro had given-in to "Dr. James' " pressure. In my research of the "Dr.," I also found he has a history of demonstrating a predictable loss of control when matters do not go his way. Additionally, there was likely no other dealership that would accept his "non-registered" trade. As a family-owned dealership, Mastro was an easy target.
In my professional opinion, "Dr. James" is not in need of an attorney, as much as, he is in need of a psychiatrist. The only "unscrupulous" behavior here seems to be on the part of "Dr. James" for persecuting Mastro, whose only crime is following the letter of the law by not allowing a car with a non-existent and, therefore, invalid registration to be traded in. I hope Mastro pursues options under the law to protect them from false and denigrating reports of this nature. "Dr. James" threatens a "crusade" against Mastro, an unfounded unfortunate crusade against one of the very best dealerships in the nation. I seriously doubt "Dr. James' " veracity.
Prescription:
s. "Dr. James" should be ashamed of himself q.4h, refrain from using "Dr." as a title for his personal gain q.i.d. pc & hs, attend regular intensive anger management therapy p.r.n., utilize the option of public apology and retraction ad lib.

State Investigators target Mastro Imports and consumer law suits coming

AUTHOR: Dr jim - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, September 13, 2009

Whomever reads this please be advised that Mastro Imports Sanford, FL is under investigation by the Florida Dept of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles and a small claims law suit will soon be filed against Mastro Imports and cost them much more than the $1000 originally sought to settle the suffering caused by their lying, cheating and breach of contract described in this report. Let this be a warning to you, the public, interested in purchasing Subaru or Suzukis in Central Florida of the seriousness of the malfeasance of Mastro against me and their willingness to deceive you like they did me. It may cost me time and expense to fight the good fight against the likes of "bad apples" like Mastro but I will never allow liars and thieves to go unaccountable in a society that needs to rid itself of such vermin car dealers. Dr. James

ps. we got rid of Bill Heard and we will get rid of Mastro Sanford.

Mastro Subaru

AUTHOR: John - (USA)

POSTED: Friday, August 28, 2009

In response to Dr Jims or Jims complaint:
At the end of the day, Dr Jim or Jim could not provide the proper documentation to qualify for the Government program, Cash for Clunker, and therefore a transaction could not take place. In an attempt to help Dr Jim or Jim, we actually offered several choices to sell him vehicle, and actually lose a little money, but he declined. After not being able to satisfy Dr Jim or Jim, Mastro Subaru then obsorbed the cost and transported the trade back to the where the it came from, which happened to be three hours away, at no charge to Dr Jim or Jim. Despite our several attempts to help him, Dr Jim or Jim now wants Mastro Subaru of Sanford to pay him $1,000.00 for his pain and suffering? Many vehicles did not qualify for the Government program and therefore some people are taking it out on the dealers, which in the end did not structure the guidelines. If you would like to discuss this, please feel free to call or email me directly, John Fruhmorgen, Mastro General Manager, 321-206-1792 or frubama@aol.com
