Matt Crowe is a con-artist who gets funding in the form of promissory notes and then does not follow through on them when his "Businesses" go down the drain. Promissory notes are not protected under Chapter 7 bankruptcy, which is what he filed in 2010. He leaves investors high and dry, then skips town to take advantage of people in San Francisco. He is not to be trusted, and is likely under investigation already. Do not invest with him.
His video on http://mattcrowe.com/ says he had $300 in his pocket when he left MN. BS - he had all the money he swindled just before leaving. Guess his investors paid for his trip to Mount Rushmore and his new garage in Cali. The "down and out" entrepreneur routine is hopefully not fooling people in SF into trusting him.

Matt does have sociopathic tendencies, as others have commented. He is charming and manipulative and will use people to help accomplish his own goals without consideration for the impact it may have on the individual. It seems as if Matt genuinely believes in the goals he is trying to accomplish, but his work ethic is poor. If his finances are in order he spends his time and money on women and his own personal, transitory pleasures. If not, he will utilize women to facilitate a continuation of this lifestyle, targeting young and driven girls who are easily fooled by his title (he constantly refers to the fact that he is the CEO of a startup) and social media.
