I was told I was approved for a 2007 Suziki and they were taking my 2005 trailblazer in as trade. Well once I got there the guy I had an appointment with wasnt even there and I had to start all over with someone else, she they tell me yes I am approved but we need 5000 down, I said no that is not what my salesman told me, and started to leave, they said the best thing you can do is let them volutary repo your trailblazer, they wont come after you for the rest you owe they will figure you dont have the money so why bother. I told them they were freaken crazy, so they someone else comes in tells me same thing, he said I have seen it before you dont need to worry about it, and I tell you what we will sell your trailblazer for you we can put it on our website it has low miles so he knew he could sell it, and would put my first payment on my new car out 120 days to give time to sell it. Well go to pick out car oh we dont have any 2007 lefts so I got a 2008, sticker was 24500. I ask if he would come off that about 3000 plus they had a 1000 rebate offer he said yeah lets go do the paper work. So I look over paper work the sales price is the sticker price, I said this isnt what we agreed on he said oh I will revise that just sign it and lets get you home cause it was like 9:00 at night by then. We long story short, he didnt sell my trailblazer after two weeks he told me to come pick it up off their lot due to insurance purposes but it was still listed on internet and he has had several calls of interest. So I relently went and got it, at this point I am thinking oh god I think I have made a huge mistake trusting what this guy told me, it was only a verbal agreement. And then I get a call from my new finance company wanting to know where my first payment was I said my first payment isnt due for 3 months, she said no 30 days, I looked back at the paper work and yup got me there too. So now they have repo my trailblazer because I could not keep up with two car payments, and have gone to owner and general manager of Suzuki and they seem to want to work with me at first and even told me they fired the sales manager that let that deal happen and would work with me to get trailblazer back and pay all fees and take suzuki back and give me a 2000 settlement. I said are you crazy i think we need to be talking 100,000 settlement and if I sue you and take you to court i bet i can get more then that. After them making 3 different offers which got no higher then 7000, I hired a lawyer and he is taking care of this now. They have ruined my credit, with late payments on trailblazer and getting it repo, they just wanted to sell a car and didnt care what it took. Yes looking back I feel stupid as hell, but they are gonna pay trust me. I would never recommend going to any Matthews dealerships they are liars.

sounds fishy...

You walked away with $60,000? I don't even see how that is possible but after all that, its insane to go back a recommend them. I honestly wouldn't go to any dealership to buy a car unless it was brand new, and even then I would be wary. Most salesmen will act like they want to work with you but really want to charge you as much as they can so their paycheck will be fat. I was screwed when I bought my car from another dealership in Clarksville, the price ended up being $4,000 more then what they "said" it would be. Buying a car is a huge deal, making sure you find the right person to buy it from is even more huge. Gary Matthews is a fraud and I have heard it from SEVERAL people in Clarksville, including my own parents who bought a van from them and was making their payments on time every month and they "accidently" repossessed it, making us freak out thinking our car was stolen at first. and then taking everything we own out of it and throwing it in the garbage and damaging the glove box by breaking it open, making us drive to Nashville to pick it up, in our only other vehicle, an old truck that almost didn't make it.  They are a HUGE fraud and I still think its so stupid to recommend a place and "take back" what you said about them when they did that to you. I wouldn't go near them with a 10 foot poll. If they will hire a complete idiot once, they will probably do it again.

I am taking it back, they have worked with me professinaly. And did everything they said they would do in order to statify me. They took back the new car and did not charge me anything and also helped me get my old car back.

I would recommend Matthews Nissan & Suzuki, they did everything they could do to work with me on this and they have resolved the problem. I am very pleased. Go see them and let them help you.

They are a great family oriented business to work with.

They fired someone over this deal at the dealership which shows guilt they offer me three different settlement offers which shows guilt. I walked away yesterday with 60,000 and them still taking there car back and giving me my old one back. My lawyer said I had a very good case.

And they broke the law by not getting my mother permission to run her credit or wittness her signing the contract as co signer

So I guess you just never know.

If they really offered you a $7K settlement, you should have took it and run

Seriously, think about what you are saying here. 100% of your story is hearsay, you have nothing in writing to show a judge or jury if you litigate this. Completely your word against theirs.

The dealer has a signed contract for the purchase of your new vehicle with your signature. You have....uh...well, you have your word that they salesman and sales manager told you stuff that wasn't true. Sorry, that just doesn't cut it in court.

If they really did offer to help you get your old vehicle back, AND take the vehicle you bought from them back...AND give you a settlement in addition, you should have taken the money and laughed all the way to the bank.

No lawyer in his right mind is going to touch this without a retainer up front, to the tune of a couple thousand bucks at least.
