Odd. Saw an ad on Boat Trader. Boat was priced significantly under market. Called the number. Was advised that I need to email the owner, because the number is only the son. Emailed owner but would not provide a tele number. Was advised that the boat was with a consignment outfit called Mavie Group. Have to register with Mavie Group just to access. No option to inspect the boat, or location for sending a surveyor. Pay in advance, boat is shipped to you with a 7 day money back guarantee. The tele number of the advertiser is an internet number. The email cannot be traced. The "owner" is Sherwood Beer, who cannot be located on any indexing service. Went back to Boat Trader. Ad is gone. And, while the Mavie Group has a real appearing website, there are no mainstream reviews of this "company". Who is going to wire over 100k on these facts? Not me

As a long-time customer of Mavie, I purchased a bass boat back in August of last year, and the entire process went smoothly. I was given the option to either pick up the boat in person by scheduling an appointment with the owner or have it shipped, and since I was 900 miles away, I chose the latter, with the boat delivered without any issues. It's disheartening that you allow posts like this that trash the reputation of a company that's been in business for years, especially when the individual chose not to set up an appointment to purchase in person and is now making false claims.

The original report I filed is 100% accurate. These online sale scams are quite common. With this particular item, a 320 Vantage, it was not able to been seen or inspected. Rather, money for the purchase had to be wired first. Though it is represented that there is a 7 day cancellation following delivery, that does not good if there is no delivery because there is no boat. It can we'll be an online sale scams. Who sells an asset like this but doesn't allow a viewing or inspection pre-payment. Probably the rebuttal to the report is also a scam

I bought a car from Mavie Group in September 2024, and everything went smoothly - this is the main reason i'm taking time to reply to this guy here. Every customer gets a clear choice: pick up the vehicle in person (always with the owner present) or have it shipped. This isn’t a special case - it’s how they do business for everyone. Mavie Group has been around for years and has plenty of mainstream reviews backing up their reputation.
It's a shame that some people, driven by personal frustration, try to spread negativity about a company that genuinely cares about its customers. Negative reviews like his only hurt legitimate businesses that have built their trust over time.
